Hello, we are Geert and Catalina and we bought our house in the Vendée in 2017 as a holiday home. We divide our time between our homes in Romania and Belgium. Our holiday home rentals are managed by Annette who lives nearby.
|Year property purchased||2017|
|Why this location?||They enjoy visiting the Vendée - for its relaxed way of life, sunny days and miles of sandy beaches. They chose a house that is full of character and only a 40 minute drive to the coast. There is a large garden with heated swimming pool and patio terrace, so they can enjoy the outside space for dining and relaxing in the sun.|
|Unique benefits of property||The house has been completely renovated over the last 12 months and is now laid out as a comfortable 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom property - with heated pool, landscaped gardens and many original features - exposed beams, stone walls and the original stone staircase. The house is an ideal place for family get-togethers or for a couple of families who would like to holiday together.|
This is a 'Must See' attraction for visitors to the Vendée. You can spend one or two whole days exploring this massive park - seeing lots of amazing shows along the way. There is a full sized coliseum with charriots racing, a Viking invasion, Joan of Arc and Medieval knights, Napoleonic sailors, Musketeers and the best Bird of Prey show that you will ever see! In between shows, there are plenty of other attractions to see - a medieval village, floral valley, war tunnels, the Renaissance Chateau and a choice of two evening shows - both fantastic! Don't miss out - book early!
Residence des Papillons sits on the edge of the Marais Poitevin that stretches between the Vendée and the Charente-Maritime. This is an area of wetlands, canals and ruined abbeys. For a tranquille day out - visit Coulon, where you can wander along the canal towpaths, or punt along the waterways. 15 minutes from Coulon is the ruined abbey of Maillezais which holds evening shows and festivals over the summer months. A great area to explore on foot, by bike or by boat!
For an adventure filled day out, head down to Moutiers les Mauxfaits - about 20 minutes away. here you will find two parks - The O'Gliss water park and the Indian Forest Adventure Park. The former is filled with water slides, lazy rivers, a beach with wave machine and a huge water play area for younger children. The latter is a fun-filled day of water slides, go karting, paint ball, zip wires and climbing through trees. Exhausting, but great fun - book in advance!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found everything to be to a high standard. It was exactly as described on the website. Excellent customer service was provided. Had a fantastic day out at Puy du Fou - well worth a visit. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
