The cottage is the middle house in a terrace of three, located at the end of a quiet no through road.
South facing, there is a terrace at the front to enjoy the sun all day and a fully enclosed garden to the rear.
The only passing traffic is from one of the neighbours and sometimes someone accessing the field to the front of the cottage.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with fridge/freezer, induction hob and convector oven, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and 1.5 sinks with mixer tap. There is enough crockery etc to comfortably cater for 6 people.
There is a dining table in the living area that can seat up to 6 as well as outside dining with 6 chairs.
There is a washing machine located in the garage.
The front door opens directly into the living room and there is also direct access to the rear garden from here.
The living room is furnished with an L-shaped sofa which converts into a double sofa-bed, 2 armchairs, coffee table, console tables, small desk, dining table and chairs.
There is UK satellite tv and a dvd player and a selection of dvd's. UK radio is available via the satellite as well.
A selection of cards, games and English books are provided.
1. Standard double bed (140cm) with window overlooking the rear garden. 2 bedside tables with lamps, bedside rugs, chest of drawers, mirror, wardrobe, armchair. Space in this room for a baby cot if required.
2. The smaller bedroom overlooks the front, has a cabin type bed that can be made up as two singles (the mattresses touch but each has its own bedding) or as a large double (160cm). There is curtained off hanging space, shelving and drawers under the end of the bed.

Note: When returning from the beach please use the outside shower to remove all sand before using the inside shower!
There is a log burner in the living room as well as a thermostat controlled electric heater. The bedrooms also have thermostat controlled heaters.
The bedroom windows both have pull-down fly screens to allow you to sleep with the windows open if required but to keep any bugs out!
Shutters, particularly at the front of the house, help to keep the bedrooms cool during sunny days

To the front of the property is a terraced area with table and chairs and parasol that is south facing.
To the rear is a fully enclosed garden with another terrace area with dining table, chairs and parasol, 2 sun loungers and a charcoal bbq.
There is a grassy area with rotary clothes line plus an outside shower to clean off after a trip to the beach.
Access to the rear is via the living room or the garage.
There is a washing machine in the garage and the garage can also be used to store bicycles and other outdoor/beach equipment. There is a parking space in front of the garage or beside the barn.
Access to the property is via a couple of steps so is probably not suitable for wheelchair users.
Grocery Shopping Service: We provide some basics to get you started (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, loo paper, salt and pepper, cooking oil, washing up liquid and sponge, kitchen paper, etc), but if you would like to have some grocery (supermarket) supplies ready for your arrival then we are happy to do some shopping for you and have the goods safely in the fridge or freezer ready for you to enjoy your holiday as soon as you arrive. We will give you the receipt and you can repay us when you arrive.
Of British/Irish origin, I have been a French resident for many years and live about 10 minutes away from this property. I am passionate about the local area and continue to discover new places to walk or cycle every year. I spent a couple of years renovating this cottage and I enjoy spending time here.

|Why this location?||It is a quiet location close to beach and countryside but the town centre of Longeville-sur-Mer is only a 10 minute walk away. Longeville has a local produce market on Fridays all year round and in the summer months the market fills the whole town centre on Monday and Friday mornings as well as regular night markets in Le Rocher.
From here you can be in the Marais Poitevin in a couple of minutes on foot, where you quickly enter car free territory and can enjoy the wildlife, there is the Maison du Marais where you can rent canoes to explore the canals or enjoy one of their local produce evening events. You can cycle to the lovely Longeville beaches (Le Rocher with its lovely sandy beach, good sea swimming and bars/restaurants is a little over 3km away, Le Bouil with its sailing school and Plage des Conches for surfers are both about 5km away).

There are several excellent beaches within easy access of the property. If you want to cycle then the closest beach is "Le Rocher" (3 km), a long stretch of sandy beach, with life guards during July and August. There are activities for children, bars and restaurants, beach shops and many evening activities such as concerts and night markets.
Longeville has other beaches at Les Conches, which is favoured by surfers and body-boarders and Le Bouil which has a sailing school.
There are also fabulous beaches up and down the coast e.g. Jard Sur Mer (Plage des Mines) and Talmont Saint Hilaire (Plage du Veillon) as well as the beaches in the La Tranche sur Mer.
Cycling is a popular activity here and there are cycling circuits to suit everyone. There are plenty of cycle paths to explore the forests, coastline and surrounding towns and villages. Many of the cycle paths take you through areas that are inaccessible by car.
