Gite Jardin is our largest gite, with 3 spacious bedrooms (all en suite), a very large kitchen/dining/living room, and a sunny terrace. There is a private garden area with bbq and seating. For larger groups it can be joined with connecting doors to our other 2 gites - Gite Ciel and Gite Lumiere.
Well equipped kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave. A large dining area seats up to 8.
The living room area has comfortable sofas (including a sofabed), a tv and dvd player and music player.
The 3 bedrooms are all spacious with large double beds and ensuite showers and toilets.
3 bathrooms each with a shower, washbasin and toilet.
Oil-filled radiators in the bedrooms and living room. Heated towel rails in the bathrooms.
There are books, games and dvd's to borrow in the library in our ground floor communal salon. The outdoor gamesroom has a table tennis table and French billiards table, as well as boules, Finnish skittles, badminton rackets and a basketball hoop. Children's play area with swings and slide.
The grounds area spacious, with plenty of room for people to relax separately or together. The heated pool (10m x 5m) is open April- October.

There is a large communal terrace with bbq close to the pool. Each of our gites has a private terrace and garden area with bbq.
Plenty of space to park cars in our parking area.
The property is suitable for visitors of all ages, however all the accommodation is on the first floor so would not be suitable for wheelchair users.
Large Toulousain grange in the gardens provides a cool, shady and dry area for activities such as boules.
We moved to this beautiful area of France in September 2016, fulfilling a long-held dream after holidaying in many different parts of France. We were both teachers, and are loving the lifestyle, culture and area that we have moved to!

|Why this location?||The Ariege has unspoilt scenery with the Pyrenees and its foothills, rivers, great walking and cycling. The area is rich in history, with many Cathar castles and medieval towns. The Mediterranean coast is easily accessible for a day trip, as is the stunning city of Carcassonne. Toulouse 'The Rose City' is only 40 minutes by train. There is something for everyone in this area...|
|Unique benefits of property||Domaine de Roudeille, an 18th century farmhouse, is surrounded by fields and woods at the gateway to the Ariege Pyrenees. With such a peaceful location, it is difficult not to relax, either by the pool or in the extensive gardens. The 3 gites are all spacious and well equipped, each having their own private garden and terrace area. The local town of Saverdun is only a 3 minute drive, or a walk across the fields, with the nearest supermarket only 2 minutes away.|
Visit Foix or Mirepoix, only half an hour away. The castle of Foix overlooks the main town with its winding cobbled streets with shops and cafes. The bastide town of Mirepoix, with a stunning market square of half-timbered buildings, is a perfect spot to sit outside enjoying a drink at any time of year.
Kayak on the Ariege from Saverdun or Le Vernet (only 5 minutes by car), or on the Hers Vif from Belpech only 15 minutes away. The Lac de Montbel (about 45 minutes drive) has a wide range of activities and a beach in summer. Many other lake and river activities within a short drive,
There are walks from the Domaine around the fields and hills locally. There are so many beautiful walks to do, from a stroll by a river, to more challenging mountain climbs. The Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compestella and The Chemin des Cathars are among some of the easily accessible marked 'Grandes Routes'
Cycling is another local activity that can be done at any level - we can recommend a bike hire specialist if you wish. There are also various local VTT routes for the more adventurous mountain bikers!

The citadel of Carcassonne is only an hour away - perfect for a day's outing
Ax les Thermes in the Pyrenees is one of the closest ski resorts (Ax 3 Domaines) in winter, is a thermal spa resort all year round, and also good for walking at other times of year. Cross country skiing is possible at Plateau de Beille, where there is a great Auberge for lunch.
Local markets can be found nearby on any day, some of the largest being at Mirepoix on a Monday, and St Girons on a Saturday. Perfect for stocking up on French food and browsing round the many stalls.
There are several restaurants and takeaways in Saverdun, including one of our favourites 'La Grignotheque'. Another favourite is 'Le Paradis du Pape' in Mazeres. Pamiers, Mirepoix and Foix all have lots of lovely places to eat...
If you fancy a day by the sea, the nearest beaches near Narbonne on the Mediterranean are easily accessible for a day trip!
