A warm and lovely welcome by Constance & Kevin for our week's stay in their character gite
Dear Denise, thank you so much for taking the trouble to submit such a great review. It was lovely to have you, dog and friends here and as you will not be far from us we hope to see a lot more of you.
We really enjoyed our week at Les Rossignols. The area was interesting and the hosts , Kevn and Constance were kind and not intrusive. We had many swims in their lovely pool accompanied by the 2 friendly ducks (not real). We thought the cottage had character and was spacious and well equipped. This is a lovely part of France and the cottage was a good base for exploring the attractive countryside and was good value.
Thank you thank you for taking the time to write this positive review. We loved you being here and when you in the area please stop - even if it is for a glass of wine and a bite to eat.
With much love, Kevin and Constance.
A disappointing welcome whereby the hostess greeted us with “I’m a bit miffed, you’re a week early”. Thankfully, our documentary evidence confirmed our dates were correct and, once this was eventually accepted, our holiday began.
The kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the British tv and free WiFi. We found the seating in the living room to be uncomfortable and, as it was dark even during daytime, we had to have a light on. Hot water was plentiful and the bathroom shower had good pressure. The double bed was old, creaky and uncomfortable. The bedroom had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival, the carpet was dirty and someone had left an old Tshirt behind in plain sight.
The property’s best feature was the swimming pool which was secluded and a welcome place to cool off. However the garden area in which it is situated is overgrown and the furniture neglected and grubby.
This gite would definitely require a deep clean. It seems as though very basic cleanliness is maintained but many areas require greater attention. It was disappointing, due to the many cats and 2 hens who live at Les Rossignols, that we could not leave our door open to allow ventilation and the frequent presence of animal faeces around the outdoor eating area was off-putting.
The local village of St Projet has no shops or facilities. The gite’s online photos are dated and externally inaccurate, internally nothing has changed.
We would not return to or recommend this property.
I am sorry that your French holiday was a disappointment. After 22 years letting out our gite this is our first negative review. We hope that your next holiday will be a happier one.
A lovely holiday home in the sun, peaceful, calm and beautiful . A lovely pool, lots of things to do around the area, a bakery just down the road, a lovely market in the town and the quite village really tops it all off . The chickens and cats were lovely and so was our next door neighbour .This destination is a perfect holiday home for any one of any age . We really enjoyed our stay and are sure you will enjoy yours . Thank you for our stay

Dear Chris, today I just had a look at my reviews, read yours and wonder if I ever thanked you for your kind words about our property. If not, please accept my apologies. I do not always know how this works. We very much enjoyed your company and hope that you come and see us and share a glass of wine with us. With love, Kevin and Constance.
