This house, originally dating back to the 12th century, has been beautifully and sympathetically restored by the owners. Set in 7 hectares of meadow (about 17 acres) it is bordered by a stream and trees with beautiful views of the Quercy cliffs beyond.
Secluded and quiet, where you will see glorious birds and wildlife. The private swimming pool is a particular feature and enclosed for safety.
Inside it is an unusual house, the rooms are long and spacious and although only having 2 bedrooms situated on the second floor, an area on the first floor can be screened off to provide sleeping accommodation for an extra 2 guests on a comfortable sofa bed. To create more bedrooms would completely change the charm, character and ambience of this lovely house. There are bathrooms on each floor and this beautiful house is extremely and tastefully furnished and well equipped. Wooden and tiled floors throughout.
Please note the owners prefer to take fortnightly bookings in the peak summer months.
If you have any questions regarding the house, prices or availability please contact us before booking.

My husband and I have been property managers for 15 years, looking after second homes for owners wishing to rent them for the summer season. In 2014 we took over a small holiday rentals company Poolside Farmhouses & Cottages. Over the years we have amassed an excellent understanding of the standards required and expected by holiday makers and property owners alike.

|Why this location?||Peaceful rural setting, yet within short driving distance of a village with all the usual amenities.|
|Unique benefits of property||Beautifully restored 12th century house with private swimming pool set in 17 acres of meadows. Situated close to the medieval market town of Martel in the Lot region.|
The delightful towns of Martel 8km and Vayrac 5 km, both with Farmers Markets.
Rocamadour, approx 15 minutes drive, one of the most visited historic towns in France. Spectacular Balloon Festival the last weekend in September.
Popular tourist steam train runs between Martel and St Denis. Open between April - September.
The house was very spacious and well equipped. The Pool area was beautiful and well maintained - the Pool man came several times while we were there and was very helpful and friendly. The outside dining area was shaded and conveniently close to the house. The BBQ area was also lovely although a little isolated from other social areas. There was also lots of equipment provided for outdoor games such as table tennis, boules, badminton etc.
The house was in a perfect location with the beautiful medieval town of Martel only 10 minutes away. Here there were many excellent restaurants, lovely shops, scenic railway and fantastic reptile land!
It was well situated to visit local attractions such as the Gouffre de Padirac and Rocamadour. Both these attractions were superb and well worth a visit. We also visited the cascades Autoire, Beaulieu sur Dordogne, Floraic and other local villages all of which were beautiful and had wonderful restaurants.
We spent a lot of time down at the river which was within walking distance and found a lovely swimming area only a few minutes away. There are also plenty of places to hire kayaks to explore the river further.
I would thoroughly recommend this property and the customer service from the management company was superb.

Amazing house in a beautiful and peaceful setting. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to booking the house for another trip next year!
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at La Veyrie so much that you plan to return next year. We look forward to welcoming you back! Best wishes, Dee.
Property was delightful.
Property I think was bigger than we expected, and the grounds extensive.
It was more rural that we thought, and really quiet, which was a plus for us.
The tourist railway is not a problem, and from experience, can see the property from afar, but not intrusively, or for long.
We are seriously thinking of booking again, as in many ways it was perfect. Also, the agents and caretaker are friendly and helpful.
