12thC Stone House With Tower and Pool. This villa is in a rural setting.

This house, originally dating back to the 12th century, has been beautifully and sympathetically restored by the owners. Set in 7 hectares of meadow (about 17 acres) it is bordered by a stream and trees with beautiful views of the Quercy cliffs beyond.
Secluded and quiet, where you will see glorious birds and wildlife. The private swimming pool is a particular feature and enclosed for safety.
Inside the rooms are long and spacious and although only having 2 bedrooms situated on the second floor, an area on the first floor can be screened off to provide sleeping accommodation for an extra 2 guests on a comfortable sofa bed. To create more bedrooms would completely change the charm, character and ambience of this lovely house. There are bathrooms on each floor. This beautiful house is tastefully furnished and well equipped. Wooden and tiled floors throughout.

Nearby attractions include horse riding, golf, canoeing and prehistoric caves. All around are the naturistic delights of bird watching and walking in unspoilt countryside with an abundance of wild flowers and rare orchids.

Please note the owners prefer to take fortnightly bookings in the peak summer months.



Kitchen and dining

A large, light and sunny, fully-fitted kitchen with cupboards and work surfaces, a heated towel rail, picture window, oak beams and tiled floor.

Inbuilt electric oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, electric hob, large fridge with a freezer compartment, toaster, kettle and cafetiere.

A kitchen/dining table with seating for 8 and a dresser. This room is long and spacious and a step leads down to a separate lounge area and shower room.

Living rooms

There are 2 lounges, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor.

The ground floor lounge area is next to the kitchen. It has a comfortable settee, french tv, dvd, ipod/cd player, coffee-table, wall lighting and a large open fireplace (not a working fireplace).

There are attractive free-standing screens to give privacy if required. Next to the lounge is a shower room with toilet and wash basin.

From the kitchen a wooden spiral staircase leads to a further delightful, spacious lounge on the first floor, superbly furnished with sofas and armchairs.

At one end of the lounge there is a comfortable sofa bed suitable for 2 additional guests, with a free standing screen to give privacy if used as a bedroom.

The views from upstairs are fantastic.


A wooden staircase leads from the main lounge to the second floor where there are 2 bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a double bed, dressing table, chest of drawers and a cot. It also has an en suite bathroom with bath, hand held shower, toilet and wash basin.

The second bedroom has 2 single beds, 2 chest of drawers and a dressing table.

The landing has ample wardrobe space.

Both bedrooms have wooden floors and windows to 3 aspects with lovely views.


On the ground floor, off the lounge, is a shower room with a shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet.

On the first floor there is a bathroom with a bath, in-bath shower, wash basin and toilet.

On the second floor is an en suite bathroom with a bath, in-bath shower, wash basin and toilet.


There is no heating available.


One English satellite tv, one French tv, dvd player, bookcases, indoor boardgames, a games table, cd player with radio, an iPod.

Outside there is table tennis with bats and balls, a boules area, basketball hoop, badminton/volley ball net with racquets and balls, dartboard.

Garden and outside

Superb garden and meadow area, in all approx 17 hectares, with wonderful views of the Quercy cliffs beyond.

Lavender pathway to the enclosed private swimming pool with roman steps. Shallow end of pool approx. 1 metre graduating to a maximum depth of 2 metres.

Sun loungers and sun umbrellas are provided.

Delightful sunny, tiled terrace outside the kitchen area for al fresco dining with wooden garden table and chairs.

Covered, purpose built barbecue area with chimney, metal table and chairs.

Barn with table tennis, volley-ball/badminton net, dart board and boules area.

Fantastic grounds and views – wildlife abounds, binoculars essential.

Parking and garages

There is ample parking space for up to 4 cars

Visitor suitability

Not suitable for wheelchair users due to the number of steps inside the house.

A cot and portable highchair can be provided and there are hairdryers in each bedroom.

No pets allowed.

The owners prefer to take fortnightly bookings in the peak summer months.

Bed linen and personal towels are included in the price but towels for use by the swimming pool are not provided. These should be brought with you.

Rocamadour, approx 15 minutes drive, one of the most visited historic towns in France. Spectacular Balloon Festival the last weekend in September.

Popular tourist steam train runs between Martel and St Denis. Open between April - September.

La Veyrie is a very special house in spectacular surroundings. This was our third visit as a family and we continued to love the house, pool and surrounding areas. Lots to do and explore nearby by bike, car, paddle board and kayak. You won’t be disappointed holidaying at this lovely property.

A spectacular property with a large expanse of park land in front of it, beautiful old house which apparently dates from the 13th century, well modernised with all necessary equipment, in a beautiful part of France. Very helpful agent available to deal with the occasional minor niggle. Good pool. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stunning private property and grounds, sensational wildlife on the doorstep. Perfectly placed to explore the Lot and Dordogne region. Very peaceful, perfect place to get away from it all and switch off. Superb management communication from initial booking to now.

We have stayed at La Veyrie several times and this wonderful property never fails to delight. It is set in a stunning, wide and open valley, where many a day we have seen herons come to rest in the field surrounding the house. The property itself is a warm and inviting stone house, typical of the region with beautiful stone walls, tower and pretty roof. Inside, it is incredibly spacious and beautifully furnished with every comfort provided for, and a lovely ambience. The gardens are a joy to be in with the added benefit of a fabulous swimming pool and a games barn, as well as a pretty pizza and barbecue area. I would recommend this beautiful home to those looking for peace and tranquility or a place to enjoy time with family and friends. There is so much to do in the region as well, that it is hard to choose what to do first. Martel,a very pretty and interesting medieval market town, is few kilometres away and has everything one could need during your stay at La Veyrie: wide selection of charming restaurants, a good supermarket, petrol station and boulangeries, of course!
