About this property

Luxury Chalet with private heated pool on 7 hectares. This villa is in a rural setting.

Le Bouyssonnet, wonderful villa in its own private garden of 7 hectares, with a private (heated) swimming pool, just across a 18 –holes golf club and a tennis court. With views over the rolling hills, you can find this beautiful romantic wooden chalet with lots of comfort and personal style. With a bit of luck you will find deer in the early mornings and at night you will hear the comforting sound of crickets cricketing you to sleep….. soo many stars in the sky, you probably have never seen this before… (there is no light pollution at all in this region)…

Wonderful, light and airy holiday home with lots of privacy. This large, 200m2 wooden chalet is designed by an architect and built under its supervision, is decorated with personal style and to a high standard. The house has a modern kitchen with basically everything you need. It has 4 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms with a double bed, 2 bedrooms with a single bed each (but they can be made up as a double bed) , an extra bed can be placed in one of the bedrooms. All bedrooms open up to the garden of 7 hectares with a wonderful view onto the hills (great sunsets!). The house has a two new bathrooms with Italian showers, one of the bathroom has a large double wash basin and the other bathroom is en-suite to the parents bedroom. The house is electrically heated with a new, modern system, from September to June electricity is charged for, but the system is very economic…

A beautiful terrace with a stunning view. There is a gorgeous heated private swimming pool (9x5m) in the garden, at only 20 meters of the terrace.

Although in a calm environment you are only short distance from the many sites to visit in as well the Dordogne as the Lot area.
Le Bouyssonnet is only 7 km away from Souillac and the river the Dordogne. The lovely Midieval town Sarlat is at 30 km and Rocamadour only 25 km. There are several big supermarkets in Souillac.

Would you like to go canoeing, abseiling or riding a hot air balloon? It’s all possible within 25 km distance!
In Gignac there are several walking tracks. A game of tennis is possible within 1 km. In Souillac there is an outdoor swimming pool. Canoeing and kayaking is possible at 14 km away from the house. You can go to Chasteaux - Lac du Causse as well, it’s a lake where you can go swimming, sailing, fishing and water-skiing.

Fantastic place - one of the best!

The villa was lovely but it did feel a little tired in places with some light fittings in need of repair along with cutlery/glasses looking well used and shower dripped continuously. The location was fantastic and picturesque albeit the garden was effectively a meadow with 2 ft wild grass/flowers growing and quite a bit of dog mess, so could not be used by children. The pool was very nice but temperature a little cool at 25C, meaning children only felt comfortable in pool when temperatures were very hot outside the pool. The golf course with brilliant facilities straight opposite the villa, enabled the children to do ball games and stretch their legs, which we appreciated.

Indoor furniture was very comfortable and homely and the on site manager was friendly and helpful.

Location and setting were fantastic with lots to do in the area. Would certainly recommend but not necessarily at the price we paid and feel the photos, particularly of the garden were done some time ago and we probably wouldn't have booked had we known the garden was not useable. Also, no welcome basket or bottle of wine as described in villa description. We also had to pay 125 euros for cleaning rather than the 100 euros stated on your website.

Please do not misinterpret my review, we were very happy there and loved it but felt we were paying for a premium level of accommodation, which it didn't quite live up to. Would definitely go again but only if cheaper and the garden was useable.
