The spectacular caves of Gouffre de Padirac and LaCave are located at a distance of 19 and 25 km respectively - a fabulous experience! And if you are a bit of a gourmet, the Michelin-starred restaurant of Pont de L'Ouysse is situated close to LaCave.
Also close by are some of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages'; Carennac (5km), Curemont (8.5km), Turenne (16km), Loubressac (17km), Collonges-la-Roouge (17km) and Autoire (19km).
The village is located on the edge of the Parc Naturel des Causses de Quercy, home to the second most visited site in France - Rocamadour. This stunning cliffside village is only 25km from Vayrac.
If you enjoy swimming, there is a water park at Betaille, the next village, and a much larger one with giant water slides at Souillac (25km). Great fun for kids of all ages.
What a lovely place and a lovely couple.
Sandi and Geoff went out of their way to help when our car broke down an hour away from the house. Their concern and help was invaluable. They took my husband to the local pizzeria in the village when we finally arrived at the house, while Sandi made me a cup of tea and we had a good chat. The next morning they drove him to the supermarket and waited for him to do some shopping before driving back and helping unload our bags. Through a traumatic time, their support was brilliant.
The house itself was beautiful and sitting in the garden sipping raspberry liquer late in the afternoon sun was bliss.
Having UK TV was great too!
Thanks Sandi and Geoff.
