Everything about Le Petite Truffe is perfection!
The setting and the gorgeous smell of lavender, alongside the perfectly decorated gite makes this place heaven. If you are after relaxation in a truly rural French setting this is the place for you.
Jane, Darren and their lovely pooch Murphy are wonderful hosts too. Their recommendation of visiting the beautiful restaurant Le Caillau was the highlight to our trip.
Thank you once again for having Josh and I - we will be back next year! :-)
June 2018 Well, What can I say? I don't think I have the superlatives to describe this Fabulous Spot!!!
Le Petit Truffe is a fantastic little gite. It was perfect for my husband and I. From the minute we walked in everything was Fabulous, The welcome pack was fantastic, flowers decorating the table. The gite was immaculate, well furnished and equipped, coffee maker, toaster, all the kitchen stuff you need, plus TV etc, The outside terrace was beautiful, the pool was gorgeous, great loungers and parasol (pool towels supplied) the gardens were lovely, beautiful colourful flowers and the smell of lavender
Jane and Darren were marvellous hosts, and helped with local info etc and Murphy, the Irish terrier was a great pal (miss you Murphy!)
The terrace is a good size, has lovely table and chairs, lovely for dining alfresco, some shade and great for BBQs (good size one available). There are also laundry facilities
The gite is within walking distance of the little village Serignac, there is a little epicerie and Restaurant - Le Bout de La Rue, the food we had there was good and reasonable, and the staff and locals very friendly. The Pigeonierre, in Puy L'Eveque, great restaurant, food is Fabulous. Cahors market great and indoor food hall, bigger market Monsempron-Lisbos
Maroux pretty little village, Chez Justine is a great restaurant, about 5 mins drive from gite
We had an amazing stay and will definitely be booking next year. Thank you Jane and Darren

Having extensive experience of staying in self-catering cottages both in France and the UK we can honestly say that “Le Petite Truffe” is an absolute gem and we would highly recommend it for couples wanting to step off the world’s merry - go - round for a few days. The peace and quiet, the tranquillity and silence are awesome and it was exactly what we were looking for when we booked.
The owners, Jane and Darren, are a delightful couple, easy to talk to and have a wealth of local knowledge.
The accommodation is lovely; the living room and bedroom were “compact” but more than adequate for two people and the shower was excellent with lots of hot water. The gite was immaculately clean.
We ate most of our meals outside but would recommend the local café in Serignac where we had a very nice meal; for value for money though we would recommend the café in St Matre (only 5km) for lunch, 5 courses but no menu, you eat what you are given, but with wine included it was 15 euros each, a real bargain and not surprisingly the café is well used by the locals.
The swimming pool is a real bonus but beware it is unheated and can be cold although in hot weather it must be a real plus, unfortunately we had reasonable weather but not hot so swimming was somewhat limited.
The location is perfect for those wishing to get away from it all for a short time, fields of sunflowers and corn on the cob with also acres of vineyards, absolute bliss & we will definitely be returning again next year.
