About this property

Character Stone House With Large Garden & Pool . This villa is in a rural setting.

La Cassagne is an old Quercy farmhouse situated in the hills equidistant between the delightful riverside town of Puy l’Evêque, the market town of Prayssac and the bastide town of Montcuq.

The property is a beautiful character 4 double bedroom stone house set in its own grounds of 3 hectares with a large chlorine pool.

The rural setting of the property and the unspoilt countryside of the Lot provides a habitat for many wild flowers and a variety of wildlife. The calm and quiet of the surroundings are a tonic for anyone seeking to escape from stress and take a break from work or city life.

The area offers historic sites, magnificent countryside, vineyards and the authentic golden-stoned villages of the Lot Valley, one of the most beautiful regions in France. Follow the winding roads, with vineyards bathed in golden light, which mirror the meandering pathways of the Lot River.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Jane Pittaway

Hi, my name is Jane Pittaway and I am the owner of La Cassagne. I love this part of France and am completely passionate about La Cassagne and the surrounding area! During a long legal career in the UK and the Gulf, I often dreamed about restoring a house in France and that dream became reality in 2013. Having also established and operated a luxury boutique hotel in Marrakech, I understand what guests are looking for and will do everything I can to ensure that your stay is fabulous!

Year property purchased 2013
Why this location? La Cassagne is superbly situated on a hill surrounded by its own land - its gardens and its own woodland - and is very green and very peaceful. The collection of stone buildings which forms La Cassagne is exceptionally picturesque, and the gardens, terrace and pool area create a haven of relaxation and good-living, away from the hustle and bustle of modern daily life.
Unique benefits of property I fell in love with the house and its tranquil setting the minute I saw it! Most of all I loved its setting, the beauty of the stone buildings and the garden and pool. Since restoring the house and the gite, the property is attracting guests who appreciate the tranquility and high standards of accommodation. They also like the discreet service which we are able to provide (when required) for ideas for visits, restaurants, local markets etc enabling our guests to settle in and start relaxing more quickly.

We had the most fantastic holiday - the house was a dream come true - the swimming pool was Hollywood stunning with lots of lovely loungers and the property location deliciously rural. It looks exactly as wonderful in real life as the photos - v clean and comfortable and well provisioned. The most perfect place to switch off from the world - the privacy and quiet were awesome. I know I’ve ranked location / amenities down a bit on the scale because there is nothing you can remotely walk to to get bread or food so you really need a car and to plan ahead which was ok for us but may be difficult for some guests. Other than walking for bread we did everything we could squeeze in to our stay comfortably - beautiful markets, medieval villages, prehistoric caves... we took DVDs for the evenings which was useful and some board games too . Fabulous French farmhouse
