La Cassagne is an old Quercy farmhouse situated in the hills equidistant between the delightful riverside town of Puy l’Evêque, the market town of Prayssac and the bastide town of Montcuq.
The property is a beautiful character 4 double bedroom stone house set in its own grounds of 3 hectares with a large chlorine pool.
The rural setting of the property and the unspoilt countryside of the Lot provides a habitat for many wild flowers and a variety of wildlife. The calm and quiet of the surroundings are a tonic for anyone seeking to escape from stress and take a break from work or city life.
The area offers historic sites, magnificent countryside, vineyards and the authentic golden-stoned villages of the Lot Valley, one of the most beautiful regions in France. Follow the winding roads, with vineyards bathed in golden light, which mirror the meandering pathways of the Lot River.
Children are welcome. We will be pleased to provide one travel cot, one high chair, a paddling pool, trampoline and a stairgate.
There is a modern and well-equipped kitchen with a large wooden dining table in the adjacent dining area for comfy and elegant indoor dining.
Outside, there is a beautiful Moroccan dining table and chairs (seats eight).
There is a comfortable living room with tv, dvd player and a library of dvds.
There is also ample outdoor seating.

Bathroom 2 – Roll top bath, separate shower enclosure, bidet, sink and toilet on the first floor.
The house has a remote controlled wood pellet burner in the kitchen and a double fronted wood burning stove plus two reversible wall mounted heaters/air conditioners.
The thick stone walls means that the house benefits from excellent insulation and remains cool in summer, as well as retaining the heat in winter.

Tv, dvd player and a dvd library
Guests have exclusive use of the 12m x 5m swimming pool (maximum depth of 1.5m) and the pool terrace and furniture. Next to the pool there is a beautiful pergola wih curtains.
There is a large tiled pergola at one end of house near the steps up to pool tiled with hand-crafted tiles specially imported from Morocco.
The garden is extensive and beautifully maintained and the meadows and woodland of the house extend to 3 hectares with the house in the centre of the land.

Hi, my name is Jane Pittaway and I am the owner of La Cassagne. I love this part of France and am completely passionate about La Cassagne and the surrounding area! During a long legal career in the UK and the Gulf, I often dreamed about restoring a house in France and that dream became reality in 2013. Having also established and operated a luxury boutique hotel in Marrakech, I understand what guests are looking for and will do everything I can to ensure that your stay is fabulous!
|Year property purchased||2013|
|Why this location?||La Cassagne is superbly situated on a hill surrounded by its own land - its gardens and its own woodland - and is very green and very peaceful. The collection of stone buildings which forms La Cassagne is exceptionally picturesque, and the gardens, terrace and pool area create a haven of relaxation and good-living, away from the hustle and bustle of modern daily life.|
|Unique benefits of property||I fell in love with the house and its tranquil setting the minute I saw it! Most of all I loved its setting, the beauty of the stone buildings and the garden and pool. Since restoring the house and the gite, the property is attracting guests who appreciate the tranquility and high standards of accommodation. They also like the discreet service which we are able to provide (when required) for ideas for visits, restaurants, local markets etc enabling our guests to settle in and start relaxing more quickly.|
