The main property, "La Forge" is the original home of the village blacksmith, dating back to 1840, with exposed beams throughout. An additional property, a converted bakehouse , "L'Ancien Fournil", is attached to the house, and can be accessed from the house via the conservatory. The bakehouse has its own private entrance and own terrace overlooking the heated pool. Fully renovated in 2016, the studio comprises its own sitting room, en suite shower room and bathroom, and double bedroom on the first floor. The studio is ideal for Parents or Grandparents preferring their "own space", and is equipped with its own large television with both UK and French television channels, together with a separate wi-fi resource.

Outside, the property has secluded gardens to the front and back, with views to the Meyronne Cliffs and Hills. Plum, pear, apple and fig trees grow throughout the property. In front of the property is a pergola with an old vine, which in 2018 produced 35 litres of grape juice!
The heated swimming pool, 10 metres x 5 metres is decked around the entire pool, and fully secured.

There is a large south-facing garden to the front of the property and smaller gardens to the rear of the house, including a gravel drive suitable for at least 4 cars.

Rocamadour is a famous village and religious centre dating back to the 12th Century, with all its traditional buildings and Church preserved in history, characterful shops and great restaurants. The approach to the village is spectacular and is a mecca for those following the pilgrim route of Jacques de Compostelle. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the village only 15 mins from the house.Not to be missed!
Quercyland is one of the largest aquatic parks in the area and is a must for all children that love flumes and water games of all descriptions. A full day out in Souillac with restaurant facilities, just 15 mins from the house.

A wonderful visit of caves over 200 years old, located only 10 mins from the house. There are 2 restaurants opposite.

Directly translated into English as the "Animal Park", a delightful sanctuary of over 1000 European animals living outdoors in their natural environment. The park is also a conservatory for endangered species. A wonderful visit for youngsters of all ages where children can see the likes of baby goats, bears playing in the water, wolves, and many more, close-up. The closest Michelin star restaurant, "Le pont de l'Ouysse", is in the nearby village of La Cave, 8 mins. drive from the house.
The famous "Chateau de la Treyne" restaurant and hotel has the most wonderful view perched on the Dordogne, with top service. The restaurant is 18 mins. from the house.
All three are very popular in the Summer months......so best to telephone to reserve. All establishments speak English and French!
The area is full of delightful small restaurants serving wonderful meals at very reasonable prices compared to the UK.....not to mention great local wines!
