About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Sue Eaves

I manage bookings for a number of owners who have holiday properties in the Lot. Lot-et-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne departments: the area is very rural and most of the houses have swimming pools.

Year property purchased 1994
Why this location? Vieux Mirou has a delightful south and west aspect overlooking unspoiled land, yet is very accessible from all directions making travel to the larger local towns such as Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Agen, Cahors and Montauban easy.
Over the years the site has been developed and we now offer good standard family accommodation for up to 25 people in our converted farmhouse and three gites.
Unique benefits of property Maison de Ferme offers up to 10 guests (in the house only) or 16 guests with the annexe 'Chez Nous', comfortable family accommodation with a very private sun terrace and private swimming pool. The pool and sun terrace face south and west to make the most of the delightful weather that this sunny area of South West France is famed for.

The Owner Recommends

Markets - Various Places

The best place to buy the freshest most delicious food direct from producers: There are markets somewhere every day of the week, the best local ones being Montaigu de Quercy (Saturday) Prayssac (Friday) and also Agen and Valence d'Agen

Full details of the local markets are available from the Halcyon Leisure website under the Area tab.

Restaurants - Various

Eating out in this area is easy, and generally very good value for money.
For gastronauts, the nearest restaurant to Vieux Mirou, Le Moulin de Dausse, offer a 7 or 8 course gastro-menu for around €30
Other highly recommended restaurants in the area include Les Voyageurs at Tournon d'Agenais, L'Auberge de Brelan and L'Auberge d'Auzinie.
A list of guest recommendations from the last year is available on the Halcyon Leisure website under The Area.

Castles - Biron and Bonaguil

Standing in the hills to the north of the River Lot, about 20km from Vieux Mirou, is Bonaguil, an almost complete medieval castle open to visitors with events and attractions which will be posted locally.
A little further away, but seen on the skyline for miles around, is Biron, which is also practically complete.
A wonderful visit which can be complemented by visits to the medieval hill villages (bastides) of Monflanquin and Villereal.
