Why this location? Montricoux is an idyllic medieval village with its surrounding hills and valleys set at the mouth of the Aveyron Gorge with the Aveyron River flowing through it. Montricoux has its own Chateau which houses the Marcel-Lenoir Art Gallery and hosts many festivals throughout the year. The village church dates back to the 17th century. Marcel-Lenoir Museum, Château de Montricoux

Located at the entrance of the gorges of Aveyron, the 12th century Château is an old commandery of the Knights Templar. It is a quiet place and marked by history. You will be able to discover the keep of XIIIème century with room of the guards, vaulted room with broken cradle, monumental fireplace and frescoes. The castle is home to the Marcel Lenoir Museum, which displays 130 drawings, pastels, watercolors, oils and frescoes by the artist.
