About this property

Panoramic Views & Private Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

La Bulle, to me, sums up French tradition. The property has been updated with all mod cons but the property hasn't been stripped away and still has all the quirky bits in the right place. If its a traditional french feel holiday you want, La Bulle is the place for you. If you want peace and privacy, La Bulle is perfect. The swimming pool has complete privacy away from prying eyes but with panoramic views over the countryside where you can sit and sip that glass of wine and rest from the weary world.

Be the first to holiday in this French rustic home as this is the first year it will have different faces in it! It is waiting to open up it's door to you and give you some wonderful memories. For privacy in abundance with private pool, this is the place for you. Beside the pool is an under covered terrace area with fully equipped kitchen area for cooking al fresco.

The property is situated 5 kilometers from the village of Montaigu-de-Quercy which is ideal for French markets, restaurants, shopping and perfect for all supplies needed. The towns of Roquecor, Beauville, Bourg-de-Visa, Laroque-Timbaut & Lauzerte are within 20 minutes drive where all facilities are provided, and the larger towns of Agen & Villeneuve-sur-Lot are around half an hour away. Pujols & Lauzerte itself is listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France and is a must visit destination.

Tarn et Garonne is perhaps the France that you always hoped existed but could never quite find - medieval villages and sunflower fields, quiet roads and small farms in gently rolling countryside. One of the 'best kept secrets' in France!

Tarn et Garonne has not yet been overrun by tourists which, in short means that the local inhabitants are still very happy to see tourists coming

This area consists mainly of farm and woodland with lots of small villages scattered around. There are chateaux, bastides, caves and museums to visit. The Canal du Midi, the Garonne and the Lot are the big rivers on which you can take boat trips or go canoeing

Nearby is Les 2 Lacs Campsite, a spacious family campsite located in a beautiful valley with two lakes on a 19 hectare estate. It's a paradise for swimming and fishing in a calm, green and spacious environment

Above all it is a department for relaxing, quiet country walks, and is great cycling country. There are more 'sights' (bastide towns, castles etc) towards the north-east, less tourists and quieter roads further south.

Further Details:

There are public tennis courts both in Montaigu and in Toufailles (approx. 10 mins). Montaigu has a "leisure lake" with a "beach" pedalloes and canoes plus a bar/café.

Montaigu has a couple of bars/tabac; a pizzeria; and two other restaurants. Roquecor and Miramont (approx. 10 mins) both have good bar/restaurants.

The area is renowned for confit de canard, foie gras, pruneaux and Cahors wine. Many vineyards in the vicinity (particularly on the road to Cahors) are open for tasting.

There are many "bastides" (fortified hill-top villages) dating from the middle-ages and the 100-Years War to visit - Monpazier being one of the nicest.

There are a couple of outdoor go-kart tracks near Agen. To the north of Fumel is an adventure park (Parc en Ciel) which is like an assault course suspended on wires high amongst the trees with long zip-lines - excellent for kids/teens

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Lorraine Knowles

7 years ago we moved to France with the intention of retiring. We started to do a little bit of summer work to help keep us in contact with the locals. To our surprise this grew into a succesful business looking after houses i.e. gardening, pool upkeep, property security but has now grown into a full time business. Owners of these properties began to ask whether we advertised for holiday lets which gave us the idea of holiday rentals so I took the opportunity to have a go. It has been a big hit.

Marché Gourmand Nocturn’ (evening markets)

Marché Gourmand Nocturn’ (evening markets).
For the real taste of Summer in France, then don’t miss one of the ‘Marché Gourmand Nocturn’ (evening market). This is dining ‘al fresco’ as it should be. Select somewhere to sit at the one of the many trestle tables then, browse the stalls selling local cooked meats and produce from which to make your selection of a meal. To accompany this choose a bottle of wine from one of the local wine producers. Why not finish by having a crepe, fresh fruit, gateau or ice cream. The ambiance deepens as the entertainment gets going and you may even get to your feet to dance a step

La Bulle is situated in an excellent rural position with outstanding views across the valley and total privacy.
It has a rustic charm with original features, yet all mod cons.
The outside area is amazing, with the outdoor kitchen and pool providing a spacious relaxing area, in addition to the large terrace outside the main house facing South.
Lorraine and Peter were very helpful, ensuring that we enjoyed our holiday.
