About this property

Authentic Regional Cottage Made Of Whites Stones. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Holidays country house in France for up to 4 couples and 8 to10 children.

There are 5 double rooms (the 5th is set up with bunk beds) and a 6th room dormitory of 40 m2, leaving you the choice to allocate adults and children.

This is a typical authentic white stone house in the Quercy region built more than 150 years ago. We have renovated it while respecting its original architecture.
Our large cottage is nestled in 34 acres of hilly landscape very typical of this area of South West France located between the 3 rivers of Dordogne, Lot and Aveyron.
The large holiday home is very friendly.

Our main room is more than 60m2 large and includes an open kitchen with a bar, a 65 inches tv and an exceptional wood Table of 6m long. Should I precise that the open kitchen is often use as a bar?
We have 5 double rooms, and a 6th room dormitory of 40 m2, leaving you the choice to allocate adults and children. We also have a total of 2 bathrooms, a shower and 3 toilets. Note that one of the bathrooms is really large, the round bathtub is 1.80 m in diameter. Also important, 2 bedrooms have their bathroom adjacent.
Under the century-old lime tree, tables and chairs, are provided to take your meals in the shade. Around the pool, deck chairs are waiting for you to relax. The view is unlimited on the rolling hills.

The pool of 10 mx 5 meters is above ground which is an absolute safety for children. It is located on the middle of the hillside and thus preserves your view of the landscape. By the way, you have no neighbours within almost a mile, to be precise 1 km.

About the area. In 1360, by the Treaty of Bretigny, the whole county passed to England, but in 1440 the English were finally expelled. Today most the French people speak English and the English people love to come back because around the lot there is a lot to do and to….. drink.
We are located very near by the Cahors road of wines, so just imagine vineyards with beautiful castles on your right as well as on your left.
The famous pathway of St Jacques de Compostela cross Lauzerte. A beautiful medieval village just 10 MN away from the property. You will also find there all you need. Supermarket, bar under the arcades, restaurants, open markets and everything I cannot even imagine.
Not very far either, the fortress of Bonaguil, which deserves to be visited, dominates the hinge of Périgord and Quercy.
Also, the large holiday home in France for 16, 17 or 18 people is at the crossroads of many rivers such as the Lot, Tarn, Aveyron, Garonne, Dordogne. You only have to choose in which river you want to swim or canoeing.
And most of the renowned tourist sites in that part of south west France are within easy driving distance.
We have a website with many pictures and we will be glad to give you the link.
Change over Day Saturday but on request could be flexible.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Jean-Paul Mossé

I am glad to have people from all over the world coming in that part of France and discover my favorite region to live, South of Dodogne in the white Quercy.

Year property purchased 1988
Why this location? Situated in 30 acres of unspoiled, private land, this large family house is a perfect place to relax.
But with plenty of attractions to visit in the region. The big house is perfect for up to four couples and 8 to 10 kids. Pet friendly.
Unique benefits of property To gather a group of friends or a three generation family for holidays.

The Owner Recommends

Medieval villages, rivers, leisure lakes, fortress, pathways, and of course wines.

My favorite medieval village is Lauzerte 10 minutes from the property. There is a square with arcades under which are bars, restaurants, and the pilgrims who walk the path of St Jacques de Compostela bring a nice animation. I also enjoy the village of Montcuq for its open market, as well as Tournon d'agenais for its night markets.
