Due to the steep driveway, steps to the pool, indoor staircase, this property is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Stephen and Judith are from Durham in the North East of England. We live in the converted barn on site with our two dogs, Billy the whippet (a northern lad) and Tina, a french miniature pinscher. We chose this property because of its peaceful location in one of the most unspoiled, rural areas of France.

|Why this location?||Tarn-et-Garonne is a beautiful part of France, full of little villages and rolling hills which attract those who like to walk or cycle and be close to nature. The area is known for its fruit, and most towns have a weekly market full of wonderful local produce. In the summer, several local villages have a weekly night market where locals and tourists gather to eat al fresco and listen to live music. Our property is a 5 minute drive from Castelsagrat, a small but thriving village with a beautiful central square where you will find the church and our local cafe, bakery and tabac. The town of Valence d'Agen is just a 10 minute drive where you can find supermarkets, shops, cafes etc. The beautiful medieval hilltop village of Lauzerte is a short drive, as is Moissac with its incredible weekend markets and famous Saint-Pierre Abbey, both places being popular stops on the Route Santiago de Compostela.|
|Unique benefits of property||Le Domaine du Chasselas is located in a rural area, so it is peaceful and quiet. Most of our guests like to spend time lazing by the pool, but for those seeking activity, there are plenty of local walks, or cycle routes. For families with children, there are several large leisure lakes within driving distance where kayaking, wind-surfing and paddle-boarding are available. The property is an excellent base for exploring the many local towns and villages, but day trips to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Cahors and Carcassonne are also possible. The local town has an excellent railway station so it is possible to take the train to Montauban, or Toulouse if you have had your fill of sunflowers and find yourself craving some retail therapy!|
One of the most popular local night markets, lots of stalls selling a variety of hot, delicious food, wine stalls, live music, amusements for children - a perfect way to spend a warm summer evening.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning - by far the best local market selling just about everything you can imagine, but known for its outstanding fresh fruit and vegetables, including the local specialty, Charentais melon. There is also an excellent indoor market that sells superb fish and meat, including foie gras and canard.
A lovely little village, famous for its pottery, it has several small art galleries, a beautiful old clock tower, an impressive church, a central circular corn exchange, and a suspension bridge over the magnificent Garonne river. There is a farmers market every Sunday morning.
