Espentals is a detached 5-bedroom family home sleeping 9 (5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) with a private 11m x 5m saltwater swimming pool.
Secluded and peaceful, “Espentals” is an 18th Century country house solidly built in traditional Quercy stone surrounded by 10 acres of its own grass meadows. It is perfectly situated in the rolling hills of the Tarn-et-Garonne midway between the market town of Montaigu-de-Quercy and the medieval “bastide” fortified town of Lauzerte.
We accept well-behaved pets.
Espentals has been completely renovated recently by a local artisan – retaining its traditional old features (exposed stone walls, beams) but modernising the decor and comforts. It offers 5 elegant bedrooms (4 double, 1 spacious single) and 3 new bathrooms, 2 of which are en suite. The house has traditional French shutters on all windows, allowing long peaceful lie ins.
The garden features a boules court, an outdoor bbq on its own covered terrace, and a restored bread oven in a covered courtyard; we also provide a badminton net, metal boules, rackets, balls and many other indoor and outdoor games.
We provide complimentary High Speed wi-fi for guests’ use.
Sole and exclusive use of Espentals is available on a weekly rental basis for 9 people at the rates shown at Prices and Availability. All utilities are fully included in the rental prices advertised. All beds will be ready made up for you with complementary high quality Bed Linen; towels (bath, hand, pool and tea towels) are also provided free of charge.
The very large fully fitted kitchen has quarry tiles, exposed wooden beams and 3 windows giving views over the northern gardens and the eastern fields of Espentals.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, filter and Moccha coffee machines, cooker with gas hob and electric fan oven as well as a full range of quality crockery and cooking utensils and all the appliances you would expect in your own kitchen.
The large farmhouse table and benches (seating 12 comfortably) ensure plenty of space for family meals together.
You will also find a range of spices, condiments and foods as well as a complimentary welcome pack of drinks and basic ingredients. Cleaning equipment and products (and a First Aid Kit) are provided under the kitchen sink.
The living room with its large fireplace and woodburning stove, settee and comfy armchairs has exposed stone walls, a quarry tile floor, exposed oak beams and a desk and bookcase.
High Speed wireless Internet is available for your use free of charge – the necessary codes for connection are provided to you on arrival.
The front door opens out onto the main terrace, the front garden and the swimming pool.
The separate sitting room with exposed stone walls and original beamed ceiling has 2 sofas, an armchair, flat screen tv, dvd and Satellite giving a range of Freeview UK channels (BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, ITV1, ITV2, BBC World, Red Button Channels, Channel 4, CNN, Sky News and many more). Both the dining room and sitting room are very well furnished throughout and have open access through south-facing French windows to the courtyard, the gardens and the swimming pool.
The first floor has 3 double rooms, 1 large single room and 2 bathrooms. The corridors and bedrooms have beamed ceilings and new wooden flooring throughout; the modern tiled bathrooms have both been fully renovated this year and have high quality modern fittings. All bedrooms have curtains, bedside tables and lamps, and traditional French wooden shutters on the outside to help keep the house cool in the afternoon, and sun out of sleepy eyes in the mornings.
The master bedroom has a double bed, ample hanging space and a charming view over the front terrace, garden and swimming pool. .
The second bedroom has 2 single beds, which could be put together if required.
The third bedroom is a generous single bedroom.
The fourth bedroom has a double bed, its own en-suite bathroom (photo left) with new bath.
Bedroom 5 is an independent studio within the attached barn (just beside the main house). It has a double bed and en suite bathroom with shower, sink and wc. Ample hanging and storage.
All the bathrooms have been recently totally renovated: they have modern tiling and high quality fittings.
The spacious family bathroom has a large corner shower enclosure (90cm x 90cm), sink with mirrored cabinet, and wc.

Espentals' 1-metre thick solid stone walls mean that it stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Not really suitable for wheelchair users.
