We have lived in France for nearly 20 years and have learned how to get the best from this great country. We are in our early sixties and have both been retired for a couple of years concentrating on developing Les Piquets which has become our passion. We are totally commited to providing an unforgettable experience for our guests and in sharing our little piece of paradise.

|Why this location?||Le Castera is a 30 minute drive fromToulouse/Blagnac airport and the city centre, situated on the border of the Gers which is still an unspoilt and beautiful part of France. The people are friendly and the way of life "soothing for the soul" totally stress free still with plenty to offer by way of country walks, plenty of activities such as cycling, sight seeing, water ski-ing, golf etc. Whilst Toulouse is full of some fabulous architecture and of course great restaurants all over, or just sit round the large salt water pool and relax.|

Le Castera is a small village perched on a hill with a Church, bar and a large and interesting antique shop. The nearest shops are 5 mins away in Levignac where there is an ATM, Boulangeries, Tabac, Restaurant and also a fabulous Charcuterie. The nearest big town is L'Isle Jourdain (15mins) with two large supermarkets and a huge Saturday Farmers market. There are plenty of local activities including: Water ski-ing in L'Isle Jourdain. You can find Walking/Hiking/Riding/Cycling trails in the 27 sq km area of the Forest de Bouconne (10mins) where there are also 6 Tennis Courts, a 25 mtr pool, mini-golf, table tennis and picnic area. For those who enjoy sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing there is a lake within 15 minutes which has a sandy beach and lifeguard on duty. Fishing boats are also rented out with Carp, Pike and Perch in the Lake (Fishing Permit required).
For Golf players, Seilh International is 20 mins away and my favourite Albi-Lasbordes is about 1hr 15 mins drive, plus a tricky 9 hole at Las Martines just 5 mins away. Within the area there is Vielle Toulouse, La Ramee, Teoula and Palmola courses.
The city of Toulouse is the home of Airbus. There is a 'Let's Visit Airbus' Tour around the A380 factory which can be booked in advance and the Aeroscopia Museum. A must see is Cite de l'Espace which is 45 mins away, this is a Science Museum with interactive exhibitions, a theatre with IMAX and a Planetarium you can spend a couple of hours or several as it is huge. The Museum of Toulouse/Botanical Gardens is a Natural History Museum with pretty gardens and is a good place to have lunch. A Visit to Toulouse 'The Pink City' with its beautiful old churches - Saint Sernin Basilica, Place de Capitole and Les Jacobins Monastery are just some to put on the to do list. And of course there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The Canal du Midi included on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is wonderful for exploring by water.
