Hilltop Haven was once the home of an independant wine producer. Positioned in an enviable location high on the rolling hills of the Tarn with a breathtaking panoramic view which on clear days includes the whole of the Pyrenean Mountain Range.
The farmhouse is built from local stone with a traditional pan tile roof and inside the rooms have terracota floors and wooden ceilings made from oak, chestnut, walnut and poplar. In recent times it has undergone a complete renovation with great care to keep the original character but with all modern comforts added.
The kitchen and bathroom are of a particularly high standard. There are 4 bedrooms one of which is downstairs - ideal for older parents or children. The main bedroom benefits from its own shower. There is a separate downstairs toilet and wash basin.
The kitchen/dining room is 30 m2 and is very well equipped and there is a living room with the original fireplace and a logburner to keep you warm in the cooler months.
The property exudes the character, charm and warmth of welcome of this area and from the moment you step in you will feel relaxed and at home.
Our guests always report a sound sleep! Outside, the property benefits from a large on-surface swimming pool (approx 8x4 metres) with garden and deck chairs and with an undercover area where you can dine or rest out of the sun.

We had a really relaxing time in this rural idyll - Angela and Simon were great hosts, always on hand to check that everything was working and going well, happy to chat, and also to leave us to our own devices. (And coped with our noisy kids!)
The house has been beautifully restored, and worked very well practically - we were two families with two children each.
The real highlights for me were
the view from the beautiful gazebo - perfect with a glass of Gaillac wine
lovely walks - the children picked blackberries, plums and figs from the hedgerows
the serenity! - the house is very rural and quiet, lovely to watch birds of prey and other wild life against the amazing views!
lovely to hear from you and thank you for a great review. Glad you enjoyed and indeed appreciated our lovely home. We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place and to share it with lovely people like yourselves. Thanks again and hope we will see you again in the not too distant future. Best wishes, Angela and Simon
We spent a great week at Hilltop Haven. The hosts, Angela and Simon, were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us good advice about places to go and were on hand when we needed them. The gite has been beautifully converted into a spacious house to stay in and we particularly enjoyed the pool, table-tennis table and covered outside space with tables and chairs for dining and relaxing. The view from the house is fantastic! We would recommend a visit to the chateau at Saurs for wine-tasting, the interesting city of Albi and the many pretty hill-top villages such as Cordes-sur-Ciel, Najac and Puycelci.
Thank you for the lovely review. I am glad you you enjoyed your stay and visiting the local sites; It was great having you all here. All the very best Angela and Simon
Had a great stay here with another couple.
Would thoroughly recommend.
Dear Iain and Louise
Thank you for your review. Simon and I enjoyed having you all here. The very best to you all. A la prochaine.
From the moment we arrived we felt immediately at home here. Angela was very welcoming and helpful, booking some activities for us, and full of ideas for excursions. The area was lovely, the far Pyrenees at times in view, it was supremely quiet and gave us the opportunity for the total relaxation that we all craved. As the old fogey of the group I didn't like the pool ladder but the younger member were fine, and there were suggestions of changes that would make it more accessible. The property and the area were exactly what we were hoping for. I can't comment on activities for younger children, and there is often a breeze which made table tennis etc not possible but overall it was just lovely and we all agreed we would love to return in the future.
Be aware that the ensuite in the master bedroom is a screened shower cubicle and does not include a toilet or basin. I misread this but the master bathroom was lovely.
We were very lazy and didn't do many activities but local towns (10-15 mins away by car) provided all the shopping etc we needed. We did go horse riding which Angela arranged for us and that was a success. There are many more things to do in the surrounding area for the less lethargic!
Also it is very accessible from Toulouse airport, 45 minutes away.
Hello Liz and family,
Thank you for the review and just to say it was a pleasure having you all here. We hope to see you again in the not too distant future . Regards Simon and Angela
