A Rural Gite With Private Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

A former winegrower's farmhouse La Croix du Roc is situated just 1km from the medieval bastide village of Castelnau de Montmiral.

Forming a self contained wing of the property, the one bedroom gite is the only gite on the property and with the large private pool just a few steps from its entrance, is ideally suited to couples seeking peace and privacy.

A very pleasant and mostly off road walk takes you up to the village in about 25 minutes.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen/dinning room is equipped with an electric oven and hob, a combination microwave, fridge, dishwasher and toaster. There is a dinning table and two chairs.

There is a separate utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Living rooms

There is a spacious double aspect living room with two sofas, satellite tv with free to air UK channels, dvd player and wi-fi.

A small library of books, maps and local information is also provided.

Bedrooms

The spacious and airy 6m x 6m bedroom looks out over the pool and features a queen sized double bed and an additional three quarter bed.

Bed linen is changed weekly.

A hair dryer and free standing fan are provided.

Bathrooms

The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and a separate toilet.

Towels are provided and changed weekly.

Heating

Heating is rarely required during the letting period but the living room and bathroom have a wall mounted electric radiator and mobile electric radiators are available in both the kitchen and bedroom.

Garden and outside

Immediately outside the gite is a covered terrace with with table and chairs and lighting to enable reading relaxing late into the evening. A free standing bbq is provided.

At the head of the swimming pool a further covered terrace has comfortable outdoor furniture and also can be lit at night.
Poolside sunbeds are also provided. Guests are requested to bring there own pool towels although they can be rented for a small additional charge.

Parking and garages

Parking is in the main courtyard of the property from which a short flight of steps leads up to the gite.

Our local village of Castelnau de Montmiral has two restaurants, a pizza take away, pharmacy and an excellent village shop which provides all essential necessities including fresh bread and local produce. Every Tuesday is market day in the village square and an ideal opportunity to buy local farmers produce and to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.

Castelnau is one of five ancient bastide village in the area all of which are within a half hour drive including Cordes sur Ceil which has a World heritage classification.

There are numerous opportunities throughout the region for walking, cycling, horse riding, golfing, kayaking etc and a popular seasonal attraction are the appero concerts when local vineyards offer food and wines accompanied by various different bands.

Just 12 kms away the large town of Gaillac has a number of supermarkets, restaurants, cinema and all the attractions of a large regional town including a lively Friday market which stretches through most of the town centre. A little further away the city of Albi is a big attraction for visitors with its magnificent Cathedral, the Toulouse Lautrec museum and numerous restaurants and boutique shopping to be enjoyed.
