|Tournesol Gite||Self Catering||Flexible||2||5||2||2 cots available for babies|
Tournesol Gite is one of 3 gites situated on a restored fermette with stunning views over the Viaur Gorge.
It is an independent gite with its own entrance and patio and shares its grounds and pool with our two other gites and family home.
A lovely spacious gite with a large kitchen diner, family sitting room with UK or French satellite tv and large wet room/shower room and toilet all on the ground floor.
Up the wooden staircase you have two very large bedrooms - a master bedroom with a big double bed and space for cot if needed and a second bedroom set out as triple with space for smaller child's bed if needed.
A modern bathroom and wc finishes off the second floor.
The kitchen is large and fully fitted.
There is plenty of cupboard space and it is well equipped making self catering very easy.
There is a gas hob and a separate electric fan oven, a fridge and separate freezer and that all important dishwasher.
In the kitchen is a large oak farmhouse kitchen table and chairs for 6.
We have highchairs and children's chairs available when required.
The lounge is a good size and offers a calm and quite place to relax with two comfy sofas. The tv can be tuned to UK or French and there is a dvd player with lots of Disney dvds for small children.
Books and games are available for use.
The master bedroom is spacious with lots of character with stone walls and exposed beams. There is room for a cot in this bedroom if required.
The second bedroom is arranged as a triple but can take a cot or second bed if needed.
Downstairs there is a large wetroom with power shower and wc.
Upstairs is a bathroom with wc and hand held shower fixing over the bath.
For out of season bookings each room has electric plug in heaters and the sitting room has a log burner.
Satelite tv, dvd player, games and books.
The grounds and large pool are shared with the 2 other gites.
The courtyard is pebbled and then the grass area leads down to the pool.
The gite has its own private patio and bbq.
Shared facilities as well as the pool are the games store with table tennis, table football, badminton sets, boules sets etc and the laundry and recycling room - with 2 washing machines and tumble dryer.
The pool is at the end of the property and there are great views from the pool over the gorge.
Parking is in our car park opposite the site.
Cars can enter the site to offload on arrival and for depositing shopping etc but then they are parked in the car park leaving the site car free and secure for all.
We are a family site and cater for all ages.
Sadly due to the restrictions of the original buildings we are not wheelchair friendly and Tournesol does not have any ground floor bedrooms.
Andy and I moved to France 14 years ago and bought a rundown farm complex which we have lovingly restored and have been running as a gite complex for 12 years. We have two daughters currently at University in Nottingham UK and a really friendly dog loved by all called Fidget.
|Year property purchased||2004|
|Why this location?||We wanted to be rural and definitely in a french part of France. It was important to us that we could immerse ourselves in french rural life and we wanted our daughters to experience growing up in a different culture and for them to be bi-lingual. Our location on the Tarn/Aveyron border gives us everything we need.|
|Unique benefits of property||We are very rural, there are no services in our little hamlet and you definitely know you are in rural France, however we are just minutes from the RN88 which whisks you away to all the attractions the Aveyron and Tarn have on offer. The area is not that well know to tourists and guests always remark on how beautiful it is and uncrowded even at peak holiday times.|
Beautiful town in the Aveyron with a large and excellent market every Thurs morning.
Great little town in the Aveyron, very pretty with excellent Castle - also good watersports the local river.
My favourite little village in the Aveyron - great chateaux for family to visit. Has a marché nocturne on Friday evenings in July and August. Excellent Michelin starred restaurant.
Beautiful bastide - 15 mins from our house - great marché nocturne every Friday evening in July and August
Fabulous town, steeped in History, amazing Cathedral, great shops and cafés plus Toulouse Lautrec museum.
Well known citadel - steeped in character. Lots of events throughout the year. Great art and gift shops. Medieval celebrations around 14 Juillet.
We can help you arrange a great canoeing experience on the Tarn - just 25 mins away. Great family day out.
At Carmaux this converted mine quarry is a great day out - all sorts of activities, waterskiing, dry-slope skiing, toboggan runs, zip lines, climbing. Especially good for teenagers.
