We spent many years renting properties all over France before buying our holiday home in Aveyron in 2012. The property had been completely restored to a high standard by the previous owners. We have also made improvements including refurbishing the pool and adding a pool heater. The farmhouse is so relaxed and with the huge converted barn having its own enormous kitchen, allows for several families or groups of friends to stay in complete comfort.

|Why this location?||The countryside is truly beautiful with rocky gorges and pastureland of the Rouergue, rivers and woodland. It is easy to find stunning unspoilt medieval villages to visit nearby and plenty of fetes during the summer months as well as antiques markets (brocantes) or car boots (vide greniers). The countryside is perfect for cyclists; providing a real challenge for keen enthusiasts. For those who prefer a more gentle exercise there is a lovely walk at the end of our field, down through the chestnut woods or along the quiet lanes nearby. The morning bread and croissants can be found in the village of La Salvetat-Peyrales, just a short drive away.|
|Unique benefits of property||Our farmhouse and barn offer the space and privacy for a great family holiday with a large salt-water heated swimming pool which is fenced in our private grounds of over 2 acres. Meals can be held at the huge table under the shade of a mulberry tree or on the raised terrace looking out across the stunning scenery of the Rouergue. On cooler days there are areas within the house and barn to share meals as well as a huge games room with Table Tennis, Table Football and Pool Table. There is also a bar area in the Games Room. You will have the whole house, barn and pool to yourselves in complete privacy with no near neighbours but just a short drive to all conveniences and beautiful places to visit.|
There is a weekly market in the town of Villefranche de Rouergue (half hour drive) held on Thursday mornings. Stroll around the narrow streets or along the river before having lunch in one of the many restaurants in this lovely medieval town.

Najac - 35km - stunning village perched upon a limestone ridge with a part-ruined castle at the top.
Belcastel - 30km - very pretty village in the valley of the Aveyron river with a Michelin Star restaurant by the river. Well worth a visit.
