Our second stay at Wisteria Cottage, just as good as our first stay!! Jean and John were there to welcome us back, they were again very friendly and helpful with ideas of places to visit and parking.
The cottage is small and extremely well organised, it had everything we could wish for including a wonderful welcome pack of bread, cheese. butter, jam milk etc.
We had a wonderful week just sitting in the garden in the sun, reading, drinking and soaking in the sounds and sights of the countryside, we could visit the second world war beaches from there and had a trip to Bayeaux to see the tapestry, highly recommended!
The cottage is so quiet and peaceful.
There are several supermarkets within 20 minutes drive, a local boulangerie/pattiserie to cater for the fresh bread and French pastries.
English satellite tv to keep up to date with the news and soaps if needed, internet to keep in touch with friends and families, altogether highly recommended, we hope to return in the future!!!!
The house more than exceeded our expectations,a true gem of a house . Perfect to those who are seeking a peaceful, and totally tranquil rest . The house is well equipped, with wifi and English tv who need to keep in contact and up to date with the soaps . The local towns for shopping are only 5 mins away and for those visiting the war cemeteries and beaches easily accessible within a hour to hour and a half . For fans of essy lunches at out of the way places and fine foods the area has an abundance of venues , A visit to Falaise Castle and the Bayeau Tapastry is highly recommended,as is Mont St Michel again all within easy travelling distance . So all in all we can not recommend the house more than enough ,the only thing we can say is people of limited ability may find the stairs in the house a slight handicap ,but please do not be put off ,go enjoy the quiet and the hospitality of the hosts you will not regret it .we shall most definitely return
Second visit and as good as the first. Cottage contains everything one needs and is in a beautiful setting. The owners cannot do enough for you, the welcome bread, cheese and wine is always a treat after the journey.
The location is isolated which is why local amenities are marked as eight but the road system and lack of traffic make any drive a pleasure through the wonderful countryside.
We did not take our dogs but this place would be ideal, plenty of enclosed outside space and acres of walks for them.
We would have no hesitation in visiting a third time!
We had a wonderful stay in this delightful and secluded part of Normandy. Happy to recommend this to anyone, the cottage is a delight, with every comfort and wonderful views.
