Second visit and as good as the first. Cottage contains everything one needs and is in a beautiful setting. The owners cannot do enough for you, the welcome bread, cheese and wine is always a treat after the journey.
The location is isolated which is why local amenities are marked as eight but the road system and lack of traffic make any drive a pleasure through the wonderful countryside.
We did not take our dogs but this place would be ideal, plenty of enclosed outside space and acres of walks for them.
We would have no hesitation in visiting a third time!
We had a wonderful stay in this delightful and secluded part of Normandy. Happy to recommend this to anyone, the cottage is a delight, with every comfort and wonderful views.
If peace and quiet is your ideal holiday, then Wisteria Cottage is the perfect place.
The cottage is clean, adequately equipped and comfortable with a rural location offering walks with wildlife in abundance and only a short walk to the local patisserie for fresh bread and delicious cakes which are baked on site daily. Nearest town (Conde sur Noireau) is a 10 minute drive away and has a decent supermarket, delightful market and a number af reasonable restaurants.
If you are a little more adventurous/active, a 20 minute drive will take you to Clecy where you can enjoy a canoe adventure down the River Orne for a very reasonable price.
Jean and John (owners) are both informative and attentive without being intrusive and willing to obtain any information not readily available. eg. Antique markets
This was our second stay at Wisteria and will definitely be returning for a third stay.
What a beautiful little cottage, right out in the countryside.
We spent a fantastic week here mixing between sightseeing and relaxing in the garden reading (with the odd bottle of wine!).
We went to Mont St Michel and St. Malo (one and a half hours drive away) one day and Pegasus bridge, Juno Beach, Utah, gold, Omaha and the American cemeterary another day.
The local supermarket (super u 15 mins away) was excellent.
It was really good sitting in the comfy chairs soaking up the sun on the remaining days from early morning right through to sunset.
Jean and John were there to meet us and show us round, there was a nice welcome pack for us so that was tea sorted out!
We always knew Jean and John were around should we need them.
The cottage was nicely presented and very clean and comfortable.
It was so good we have already booked again for next year!
