We have had an absolutely lovely week and loved the gite and would definitely visit there again and recommend our friends and family. We loved being in the middle of rural France, enjoyed the peace and quiet and wonderful views. We had a very warm welcome from Peirre and Adeline who were very helpful and friendly. The welcome gift of wine and easter eggs was very touching. The position of the gite is ideally suited for travelling around Normandy - we explored at lot but mainly the North, Bayeux and the Normandy beaches, but next time we want to explore the south. We are very much looking forward to visiting again.
A lovely gite set in beautiful, rural area with good road links to lots of places of interest - an ideal base for visiting the town of Vire (10/15 mins) with it's shops, market and supermarkets. It is under an hour away from the Normandy Landing beaches and just over an hour from Le Mont St Michel.
Property was spacious and well equiped set in a large garden with private above-ground pool (unheated). Owners were friendly and helpful (one French and one English) and gave lots of useful information. At the same time they did not intrude in our privacy, despite living in the adjoining cottage.
Large log-burning fire which would be lovely in cooler months but our visit was in August so we didn't need it. Stone-tiled floor throughout with wooden beams and wooden staircase from the living/dining room leading to 2 bedrooms. Master bedroom large with king-sized bed (bit uncomfortable though) and second bedroom with two single beds quite small, although our teenage sons managed in there. The bathroom is located downstairs through the kitchen.
Property represents good value for money and is an ideal base for relaxation but at the same time in a great location with stunning views. The owners communication before we visited was prompt and friendly, answering any questions we had.
The village of Annebecq which it is located in does not have any facilities like a boulangerie or patisserie so a car is essential.
We have thoroughly enjoyed a two-week holiday at La Belliere and would recommend it to family and friends.
