La Ferme de Longues is set in the historic coastal village of Longues-sur-Mer offering a cluster of 3 cottages within walking distance of the sea.
Set in 3.5 hectares the 3 gites (cottages) and grounds have been converted from former farm buildings dating back to the early 19th century. The gites have between 2 and 3 bedrooms and have been renovated to a very high standard featuring a combination of contemporary French design and rustic chic. Each gite has a private patio and grassed area to enjoy easy al fresco dining and there are communal indoor and outdoor play areas where the children can play safely and meet new playmates.
The former barn has been converted into a toddler’s play paradise including trampoline and ride-ons and behind the barn the former walled potager has been transformed into a securely enclosed outdoor play area with swingset and sandpit for the kids and sunloungers and hammocks for parents. Surrounding the potager is a paddock offering plenty of space for outdoor games and picnics with beautiful views across the rolling fields to Bayeux.
A short stroll will get you to the local bakery, serving fresh morning croissants. There is a good restaurant in the village and best of all you can be admiring the fantastic sea views less than 1km away on foot. Blow those cobwebs away with a walk (or jog!) along the dramatic coastal path all the way to Port-en-Bessin or Arromanches. Alternatively take the winding road down to the pebble cove - a hidden treasure with plenty of scope for rock-pooling and crabbing.
Prices listed are for stays of one week. Short breaks are available on request and we offer different discounts during the year - visit our website for details. www.toddlerholiday.com

Our guests rave about this safari park. From white tigers to rare hippos you can get closer than you probably want to imagine. A petting zoo and miniature train ride are often quoted as highlights. If zoos are your thing then you could also visit Zoo de Jurques and Zoo de Champrepus – all within easy reach.
Just 15 kilometres of golden sand backed by rolling green fields of the Calvados countryside. Resort towns along the Cote de Nacre offer simple, old-world charm and you can easily feel as if you’ve been transported back to the beginning of the last century. Favourite spots are Luc-sur-Mer, Lion-sur-Mer and St Aubin.
Whilst the kids get down to the business of sand-castle building you can soak up the history. Lots of great museums and historic sites all along the coast.
A back to basics theme park that offers lots of rides for children under 5 at a very reasonable price but with plenty for older children too. Always a sure-fire hit.
Normandy is a world-class horse-breeding region and horses are a regional obsession! Lessons and trekking available just about everywhere including on the beach.
Part of the Chateau de Vendeuvre you can skip the interior (and its precious antiques!) and head straight for the magic water garden. Waterfalls, jets and fountains are all triggered as you walk by – the children just love it and it’s very cooling on a hot day.
Awe-inspiring UNESCO world heritage site.
There are restaurants to be sampled at every turn and a trip to the local cider and calvados producers to fit in, shopping in Caen and Bayeux – the list is endless! No wonder the most common feedback we receive from guests is that a week just isn’t long enough to fit everything in – one of the reasons so many of them return………
The invasion of 1066 and all that!
