About the Owner, Mrs Sue Tooze

Year property purchased 2007
Why this location? So much to see and do. We like the history, architecture and beautiful countryside but also miles of sandy beaches. Fantastic cycle routes on quiet country roads and walking distance to the harbour for hot chocolate/coffee's and wonderful beers.
Unique benefits of property Very modern in a great location and quick and easy drive from the ferry ports.

This property was really lovely, large and comfortable and well positioned for the coast and seeing D Day museums, beaches etc. Also very close drive to Bayeux. Port en Bessin a 15 minute walk and a very pretty port.

We would certainly use this property again. It had a very home from home feeling with well equipped kitchen and plenty of games and books.

Owner response

Thank you for a lovely review, it is much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. We are hoping to get WIFI in this year which will help guests see what is going on in the surrounding area. Thanks again. Sue

Great location. House was pretty much as described - garden bigger than expected and very child friendly. About a 20 minute walk into port en bassin- lots of restaurants, pretty town with great boulangerie. Close to the D-Day museums and beaches for those with an interest in history. Beaches also great for walking or spending time on- good for children although the tide does come in very fast. We enjoyed our holiday here and would recommend it.

Thank you. The cottage was just as we expected and offered a very high degree of comfort. My only very minor issue is the lack of available wifi, it would have helped with researching some of the sites we visited. Nevertheless, in the greater scheme of things it is a very minor gripe. This is why I have given it a 9 instead of a 10.

We also on the day of arrival met Charlotte the house keeper and found her very helpful with a 'can do' attitude.

I will not hesitate to recommend this cottage. I may be revisiting Normandy in the not too distant future and this cottage will be on the list.

Owner response

Thank you for kind comments, it is much appreciated. Look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

We had a comfortable stay which was helped by good weather. It is in a very quiet small estate so no traffic noise. Near to a convenience store and to the town centre in which we found some good restaurants. We thought the lighting in the living room could have been better and the TV acquired a strange colour cast so we watched in B&W.Although it didn't bother our party of three I think if six or more were present, the only two W.Cs might be kept rather busy. Small criticisms which had no bearing on our enjoyment. It is in an ideal situation for visiting the WW2 sites and museums, being midway between Omaha and Gold beaches. It is a pleasure to drive in an area where parking, even on the road is free and no speed cameras in the villages (though do slow down for the speed bumps!) I did park in the public car park in Bayeux and was charged three euros for all day parking. I would certainly recommend it and it is great value especially if comparing it with hotel accommodation.

Owner response

Thanks for your comments we have taken these on board and have two new lights to take to the house. We have asked our caretaker to investigate the problem you had with the TV. We are really pleased that you had a good holiday with plenty of local places of interest. We have noticed that it is free to park In most places which makes life so much easier. Thank you.
