After struggling to get to the house as our Sat Nav couldn't find the address (I would suggest a sign be put up at the beginning of the lane to help people find the house) we arrived later than expected and Albert, the owner had gone out but left us a note and a very welcome couple of bottles of wine.
Whilst the house was very clean the decking area together with the outside furniture needed a good brush down to get rid of lots of cobwebs and dust. My only other complaint was there are no towels provided and that wasn't made clear in correspondence. Saying that Albert was very helpful the next day lending us some of his until we managed to buy some.
The house is in an idyllic setting with the garden running down to the lakeside which has a 6.5km path all the way around and is perfect for walking or cycling. There is a beach area about 15mins walk away which also has canoes and pedallos for hire (great fun). You can also fish on the lake.
Albert went out of his way to sort out any issues and was most helpful with getting Wi Fi for us as the recent storms had messed it up.
The Golf de Vire course is 5 mins drive away and is a great course for golfers of all abilities and both the management and members were very friendly. You can also get food in the clubhouse but it is a limited menu.
Local restaurants seem to be in the minority (the Pizzeria/Bar in the village was closed for holidays!) but there are plenty of supermarkets within 15mins to get lots of great food and wine.
I thank you very much for your comments Mark and Will take note ,
I will arrange for a sign to be placed at the top of the lane ,
and I will also make it clear that I do not supply Towels .
Thank you and I hope to see you and your party again .
Best wishes Albert
this was our 3rd time at lakeside Haven loved it each time, we have been lucky on each occasion with good weather but you have a lovely view of the lake to take in if the weather is not good, there is plenty of things to do on the Lake canoeing pedoling or just a lovely walk around the lake also it is good for fishing or cycling, the house has a lovely kitchen with dishwasher and washing Machine 3 bedrooms 2 shower rooms with WC, TV and a lovely Patio area where you can just sit and read or take in the lovely Views,it is also not far from some of the touring sites we have been to Normandy Beach and to see some of the lovely( but sad) kept war graves only an hour away,we usually catch the ferry to Caan and the property is approx an hours drive away,we will be back either next year or the following year but we will go back cos we like it very much love the peace and tranquility.
The lakeside heaven was very impressive, we were wowed by the setting and the layout of the house. Albert the owner was very welcoming and gave us lots of advice and help. The whole holiday was very relaxing and enjoyable. We will be returning very soon .
Albert the owner was very helpful and always available ,the property is in a very beautiful location with spectacular views and very peaceful .The town of Vire is very near with good shops and restaurants and a good market on Friday. The only slight problem was that one of the shower rooms was downstairs with the three bedrooms upstairs.A lovely place to stay and relax but close enough to visit other attractions we would recommend it to other people .
Thank you very much for your kind review ,and I really enjoyed your company.
As for one of the Showers being downstairs ,I thought it would be a good idea for anyone coming in from out of the gardens full of dirt
kind Regards Albert
