Tucked away in a quiet corner of Suisse Normandy, famous for its craggy rock formations formed by the rivers Orne and Odon, you will find La Paix. Ideal for its proximity to the local towns of Conde sur Noireau, Vire, Flers and with all the sights such as the D-Day Beaches, less than an hour in the car and Mont St Michel, just 1.5 hours drive time away.
Our guest accommodation is located in separate house and can accommodate 4 adults and our minimum stay on this basis is 4 nights. Through Holiday France Direct, only the whole property can be booked. There are other options, such as a 1 bedroom gite or bed and breakfast for both rooms or 1 bedroom, minimum stay 2 nights, but these are only available through our website, not through this listing. If you are interested in the options mentioned above, please visit our website.
The kitchen also has a dishwasher in addition to the facilities above.

Two spacious, luxurious bedrooms, each with private en suite facilities.
The en suite shower rooms have a shower, wc and washbasin and quality complimentary toiletries.

English satellite system with Sony hd tv, dvd player with a selection for all ages of dvds and cd player.
Large, private garden with lavender plants, the flowers for which are distilled into bio essential oil.
Ample parking right outside the gite which can easily accommodate 3 cars plus our own.
The ground floor bedroom is suited to those who prefer not to go up too many stairs. Although it has its own entrance, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
During late June to mid-August (and this is dependent on the weather), we distill the lavender flowers into essential oil and you are welcome to watch the stages of the process.
Conde sur Noireau, Thursday mornings has food, clothes, garden plants and household items. Vire, Friday mornings, half an hour in a car, similar to the market in Conde, but larger. Flers, Saturday, 10km away. Similar in size and goods to Conde sur Noireau.
The Auberge at St Germain du Cricoult is 2 minute drive away, a favourite with several clients and well respected in the locality. La Licorne, 21 Avenue de Verdun. Au Bouquet de Saveurs, 4 Rie Dumont d'Urville.
Conde Sur Noireau has a swimming pool which is popular. At Clecy and Vire there are golf courses. Clecy also has a miniature steam railway. Thury Harcourt is popular with cyclists due to its 20km cycle path and is also popular with canoeists.
With just three in our party (two adults, one child) this two-bed gite felt very spacious. We used it as a base for a busy week of exploring Normandy so did not actually hang around there much. We found the location provided just the right balance of 'away from it all' but still with swift & easy access to the main road network.
Accommodation offers a practical combination of 'rustic charm' with all mod cons. Bare stone walls and wooden beams vs. modern kitchen, Wi-Fi and good mobile coverage. Just note: there are several steps between each room. The gite is on four levels - this adds to the charm but not for the less able. (Although as noted on the web site, the GF bedroom has direct, level, external access.)
Hosts are a pleasure to deal with.
If we are looking for a base in this area again this would be high on our list.
This is a very comfortable gite in a very peaceful and pretty setting. We would certainly make a return visit
