About this property

Charming luxury Gite, close to the landing beaches. This property is in a rural setting and is one of 3 gites within an old farm courtyard, with its ancient cider press still in place.

Set in the rolling Normandy countryside, Le Pressoir gives you a delightful feeling of living in a world free of mayhem and complication but also has that essential dash of style and luxury. You may be on holiday but that doesn’t mean you have to rough it!

The gardens are mostly communal within the large courtyard with each gite having a lawned area with furniture - the lawn of Gite Molière is directly outside the gite with 2 chairs, a garden sofa and table so you can sit and have your morning coffee or a drink in the evening after a day out exploring beautiful Normandie.

There is a heated swimming pool in the middle of the courtyard with sun loungers around the pool terrace.
A hot tub is available for use in the evenings.
Pool towels and pool safe drinks glasses are provided.

Gite Molière is spectacularly spacious, flooded with lots of natural light and furnished cleanly and simply, with solid oak floors and classic French style bed linen. Patio doors open on to a lawned area where you can sit at the contemporary rattan furniture, have breakfast of local croissants and fresh coffee, read a book, dine al fresco or have a leisurely glass of wine in the evening. The choice is yours!

Ideal for couples, there is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee-maker, crockery and a dining area with large table and 4 chairs.

There are 2 sofas and a 42 inch plasma screen, and for you tv addicts there is Apple tv, free wi-fi and UK free to air tv channels. Plus there is a small downstairs toilet. A laundry room is also available to use if you wish.

You know you’re going to get a good night’s sleep the moment you walk through the door of this enormous bedroom and see the stunningly ornate super king size bed with its crisp blue and white bedding and generous pillows. This room certainly has the wow factor! We've been told by one guest that sleeping in this bed was “like sleeping on a fluffy cloud”.

So if you love to have a leisurely lie-in in the morning you'll be in holiday heaven. There is a comfy chair and also a chaise longue for you to stretch out and relax on if you want to sit and read a good book, and for you gadget lovers there is a 50 inch plasma screen with dvd player and an iPod/iPhone dock.
A baby cot is available if required.

The en suite bathroom is equipped with a limestone basin, toilet, bath with waterfall tap and walk-in shower so you can either have a long relaxing soak in the bath or a quick invigorating shower and you’ll also be provided with plump towels to wrap yourself in.

The Owner Recommends

Deauville

Live the high life - drive to Deauville and stroll the promenade, have lunch at one of the many exquisite restaurants or shop till you drop at Gucci, Channel and Louis Vuitton to name a few.

Night Trotting at Cabourg and More

Take in a show or have a flutter at the beautiful casino and on some Fridays in the summer you can dine in style as you watch the Night Trotting at Cabourg, a very special evening indeed. Trotting is very popular in Normandy and you can often see the horses being exercised along Omaha beach. Plan in advance and make the most of your stay, and maybe one stay won't be enough!

Normandy Landing Beaches and Bayeux Tapestry

You’ll be spoilt for choice of things to do in Normandy. The most famous “must see” things are the many poignant WWII landing beaches and the world famous Bayeux Tapestry that tells the story of William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings. The landing beaches stretch from the British beaches and Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches to our nearest beach, Omaha beach and on towards Cherbourg. Omaha beach is a 5 minute drive from Le Pressoir and on the hill behind the beach is the very impressive American Cemetery, museum, the gardens there are a tranquil place to remember those that lost their lives on the beaches below.

it would be impossible to truly describe just how wonderful this property really is. It is very clean, extremely well maintained and decorated in impeccable taste. The owners, Shu and Rob, made our second stay at Le Pressoir very special and enjoyable. It was fantastic being able to return to Gite Moliere and to take our family with us to stay in Gites Renoir and Exupery, and even more so to celebrate my father’s birthday there together. The little touches really made our holiday perfect and will always be remembered by us all.
There is so much to see and do in the local area, from the D-Day landing beaches and museums, cider and ice cream farms, seaside towns and the Bayeux tapestry. The nearby restaurant overlooking Omaha beach, La Sapiniere, is highly recommended and offers a brilliant selection of tasty dishes.
My wife and I now feel like ale Pressoir is a home from home in France and we cannot wait to book another week there next year for our third visit so that we can make even more unique memories. This property really is equisite and has the very best hosts which anyone could wish for.

Owner response

Wow Mike and Vicky, what can we say! Thank you so much for your glowing review.
It can't get better than a 10 out of 10 score so we're thrilled to bits with that but to then add all the wonderful things you've said too has really made our day.
We've loved having you stay again this year and it is such a compliment to us that you feel like it is your French home from home. It was fantastic that you came with all your family and took all 3 gites and have Le Pressoir all to yourselves.
We very much look forward to seeing you again next year and Merci Beaucoup for the fabulous review.
Best Wishes

This was our second visit in 12 months and we cannot recommend Gite Molière highly enough. It was spacious, immaculately presented and beautifully furnished. The gite was extremely clean and had a well equipped kitchen. The bedroom was to die for and it's probably one of the best gites in France! Nothing was too much trouble for our lovely kind and generous hosts. The welcome pack was perfect and the attention to detail in every area is second to none. Everywhere around you is tastefully decorated and stylish. We highly recommend Gite Molière and several friends have already expressed an interest in staying there in the future and we know they won't be disappointed. We are already planning on booking up our third visit next year.
There are many areas of historical interest to visit plus pretty villages and friendly towns such as Bayeux. Local cuisine is excellent and particular favourites include savoury gallettes and Normandie cider. Best restaurant has to be La Sapiniere on Omaha beach. We also did a fair amount of cycling (the bikes were loaned free of charge by the kind Gite owners) and there is no shortage of peaceful country lanes . The roads are in far better condition than in the UK (no pot-holes!) We found that even the main roads were quiet so driving was stress-free and easy. If we could speak the language we wouldn't hesitate in moving over there permanently! 10 out of 10!

Owner response

Wow Jane and John, what a fabulous review, we are completely over the moon with your comment "The bedroom was to die for and it's probably one of the best gites in France!"... and a 10 out of 10 score is absolutely fantastic so thank you. You are always wonderful guests and we look forward to seeing you both again soon. Very Best Wishes, Shu and Rob

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Gite Moliere.

Shu and Rob, the hosts, were always around to help with any queries we had and were marvellous at finding us anything we needed. The hosting had a real personal touch to it. Nothing was too much trouble and you felt that they really cared that you enjoyed your stay.

The gite itself was lovely. It really was perfect...everything you could wish for, and more. And the hot tub and pool were amazing.

We ate out at La Sapiniere...lovely and also visited the beautiful town of Bayeux...would strongly recommend.

La Pressoir is in a really beautiful and interesting area..we'll be visiting again.

Owner response

We're also over the moon that you found the gite itself to be perfect and that you enjoyed the pool and hot tub and we would love to see you again.
Many Thanks indeed for the 10 out of 10 rating, we can't ask for more than that and we'll do all we can to ensure our future guests feel the same.
With all best wishes, Shu and Rob.
