About this property

Boutique Hotel meets French rural charm. This cottage/gite is in a coastal setting.

Set in the rolling Normandy countryside, Le Pressoir gives you a delightful feeling of living in a world free of mayhem and complication but also has that essential dash of style and luxury. You may be on holiday but that doesn’t mean you have to rough it! Gîte Renoir is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite that is light and airy with patio doors overlooking the lawned garden where there is plenty of communal space to socialise or separate areas if you prefer to be alone. It is furnished cleanly and sympathetically with oak floors, some exposed stone walls and classic French style beds and bed linen.
This open plan gîte has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, plenty of crockery and glasses, and a dining area with a large table and 4 chairs. The table can be extended and two additonal chairs are available if you need them.
Gîte Renoir is ideal for couples and families alike, the lounge area has 2 sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed and a 32 inch plasma screen and free wi-fi. Plus there is a small downstairs toilet. A baby chair, changing table and cot are available if needed and a laundry room is also available to use if you wish.

The Owner Recommends

Bayeux

Historic Bayeux is a 10 minute drive with many chic boutiques, cafés, restaurants, fantastic Saturday market and the Bayeux Tapestry. There is also a selection of museums and cathedrals for you to visit.

Cabourg

Night Trotting at Cabourg and more. Take in a show or have a flutter at the beautiful Casino and on some Fridays in the summer you can dine in style as you watch the Night Trotting at Cabourg, a very special evening indeed. Trotting is very popular in Normandy and you can often see the horses being exercised along Omaha beach.

D-day Landing Beaches

The landing beaches stretch from the British beaches and Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches to our nearest beach, Omaha beach and on towards Cherbourg. Omaha beach is a 5 minute drive from Le Pressoir and on the hill behind the beach is the very impressive American Cemetery, museum, the gardens there are a tranquil place to remember those that lost their lives on the beaches below.

Deauville

Live the high life - drive to Deauville and stroll the Promenade, have lunch at one of the many exquisite restaurants or shop till you drop at Gucci, Channel and Louis Vuitton to name a few.

Things to do near us

You'll be spoilt for choice of things to do in Normandy. The most famous must see things are the many poignant WWII landing beaches and the world famous Bayeux Tapestry that tells the story of William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings. Nearby there is horse riding, golf, fishing, sailing, sand yachting, bungee jumping. Plan in advance and make the most of your stay and maybe one stay won't be enough!

Trévières

Our local village, Trévières is 3km away, it has 2 bakery's, 2 butchers, 2 bars, post office, pharmacy, small supermarket, 2 hairdressers, florists and a thriving Friday Market with fresh local produce.

I can highly recommend this accomodation. The hosts are fabulous and make you feel so welcome. The pool and hot tub are a lovely way to unwind in the peaceful surroundings.
The gite was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished and really did feel like a home from home .

Owner response

Thank you Caroline for your lovely review and your 10 out of 10 rating, that's what we constantly aim for with all our guests so its always a delight for us when we achieve that.

You were 10 out of 10 guests and we loved hearing all the giggles as you enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

We also want to thank you for booking to stay with us again next year, we must be doing something right for you to have booked for next year within the first two days of your weeks stay.

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Fantastic location, for D-Day and plenty of 'normal' sightseeing . Spent wonderful 2 weeks here in July after a week last year and still found plenty to do. Shu & Rob very welcoming, new pool and hot tub a big hit with teenage daughter.
Great hosts, superb location, great value for money and many happy memories,

Owner response

Thank you so much Athol for your wonderful review, it was fantastic to see you all again this year and we're delighted that you had a good time and that the swimming pool and hot tub are a worthwhile addition.

We have to thank you for being the inspiration for our Rosé Cider Tasting Evening while you were here (all done in the spirit of research of course!) You, Katie and our guests in our other two gites put in so much effort that sunny evening in the garden, tasting all 4 types of Rosé Cider to ensure that our guests get the best winning Rosé Cider in their Welcome Pack. Sometimes research is fun isn't it.

A most fabulous gite in a wonderful location with caring, welcoming hosts who will stop at nothing to help you. I travelled with 2 children and the property was ideal, clean and well looked after. An Ideal base to explore Normandy especially the museums and the beaches.

Thank you so much, it doesn't get any better than a 10 out of 10 and we are over the moon that you had such a good time here in Normandy and at Le Pressoir.
We loved meeting you and your boys and it's easy to be welcoming hosts when we have guests as lovely as you all were.
Many thanks again for your glowing rating and for your kind words in our guest book.
