About this property

Boutique Hotel meets French rural charm. This cottage/gite is in a coastal setting.

Set in the rolling Normandy countryside, Le Pressoir gives you a delightful feeling of living in a world free of mayhem and complication but also has that essential dash of style and luxury. You may be on holiday but that doesn’t mean you have to rough it! Gîte Renoir is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite that is light and airy with patio doors overlooking the lawned garden where there is plenty of communal space to socialise or separate areas if you prefer to be alone. It is furnished cleanly and sympathetically with oak floors, some exposed stone walls and classic French style beds and bed linen.
This open plan gîte has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, plenty of crockery and glasses, and a dining area with a large table and 4 chairs. The table can be extended and two additonal chairs are available if you need them.
Gîte Renoir is ideal for couples and families alike, the lounge area has 2 sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed and a 32 inch plasma screen and free wi-fi. Plus there is a small downstairs toilet. A baby chair, changing table and cot are available if needed and a laundry room is also available to use if you wish.

The Owner Recommends

Historic Bayeux is a 10 minute drive with many chic boutiques, cafés, restaurants, fantastic Saturday market and the Bayeux Tapestry. There is also a selection of museums and cathedrals for you to visit.

Night Trotting at Cabourg and more. Take in a show or have a flutter at the beautiful Casino and on some Fridays in the summer you can dine in style as you watch the Night Trotting at Cabourg, a very special evening indeed. Trotting is very popular in Normandy and you can often see the horses being exercised along Omaha beach.

D-day Landing Beaches

The landing beaches stretch from the British beaches and Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches to our nearest beach, Omaha beach and on towards Cherbourg. Omaha beach is a 5 minute drive from Le Pressoir and on the hill behind the beach is the very impressive American Cemetery, museum, the gardens there are a tranquil place to remember those that lost their lives on the beaches below.

Live the high life - drive to Deauville and stroll the Promenade, have lunch at one of the many exquisite restaurants or shop till you drop at Gucci, Channel and Louis Vuitton to name a few.

Things to do near us

You'll be spoilt for choice of things to do in Normandy. The most famous must see things are the many poignant WWII landing beaches and the world famous Bayeux Tapestry that tells the story of William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings. Nearby there is horse riding, golf, fishing, sailing, sand yachting, bungee jumping. Plan in advance and make the most of your stay and maybe one stay won't be enough!

Our local village, Trévières is 3km away, it has 2 bakery's, 2 butchers, 2 bars, post office, pharmacy, small supermarket, 2 hairdressers, florists and a thriving Friday Market with fresh local produce.

Shu and Rob bent over backwards to ensure that we had a comfortable and relaxing holiday. As more of their properties are completed we are sure they will continue to attract a regular customer base. Good luck to them.

Beautiful Gites in a wonderful setting. Many different things to do in the area from beaches to museums. The local town just about has everything you need from excellent butchers to great patisseries. The owners recommendations for local restaurants were really useful. We took our 2 Labs and Shu the owner booked the appointment at the vet for us even accompanying my husband. They are in the process of nearly finishing a pool which will be great, as the weather in Normandie can get quite hot in the Summer. Came home feeling like we really had had a holiday.

Owner response

Thank you so much for your fantastic review, we are so pleased you had such a good time and enjoyed plenty of wonderful local food in our nearby restaurants.
It was a pleasure to go to the vets with Iain so Louis and Albert had all the correct tablets for their return to the UK after their Normandy holiday.

A spacious Gite of very high standard. There are three fires in the same very large barn conversion.
Easy to find and very practical for the Normandy coast.
Both hosts are a fund of knowledge and very friendly.

Would highly recommend this Gite to anyone staying.

Owner response

Wow, 10 out of 10 for everything!
Thank you so much, we are thrilled you had a good time in Normandie and at Le Pressoir - you sure did fit in a massive amount of activities and sight seeing while you were with us.

Also, we took a trip to Cité de la Mer at Cherbourg after your glowing report of it. We had an amazing day and you were right - it was so worth going, the super impressive submarine was really fascinating, we loved all the sea life in the aquarium and had a delicious 3 course lunch in their restaurant. Thank you for encouraging us to try it - we will certainly be recommending it to other guests.

Owner response

Wow, 10 out of 10 - it really doesn't get any better than that! Thank you so much.

You were really super guests and we loved meeting you and getting to know you both.
We're thrilled you were happy here, had some hot and sunny weather and were able to have a few barbeques outside your gite.

We would love you to come back and stay anytime.

Thank you once again for the kind words and fantastic 10/10
