About this property

Boutique Hotel meets French rural charm. This cottage/gite is in a coastal setting.

Set in the rolling Normandy countryside, Gite Renoir is in a rural setting and is one of 3 gites within an old farm courtyard, with its ancient cider press still in place.

The gardens are mostly communal within the large courtyard with each gite having a lawned area with furniture - the lawn of Gite Renoir is directly outside the gite with 4 chairs and a table so you can sit and have your morning coffee or a drink in the evening after a day out exploring beautiful Normandie.

There is a heated swimming pool in the middle of the courtyard with sun loungers around the pool terrace.
A hot tub is available for use in the evenings.
Pool towels and pool safe drinks glasses are provided.

Le Pressoir gives you a delightful feeling of living in a world free of mayhem and complication but also has that essential dash of style and luxury. You may be on holiday but that doesn’t mean you have to rough it! Gîte Renoir is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite that is light and airy with patio doors overlooking the lawned garden where there is plenty of communal space to socialise or separate areas if you prefer to be alone. It is furnished cleanly and sympathetically with oak floors, some exposed stone walls and classic French style beds and bed linen.

The open plan downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, plenty of crockery and glasses, and a dining area with a large table and 4 chairs. The table can be extended and two additional chairs are available if you need them.
Ideal for couples and families alike, the lounge area has 2 sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed and a 32 inch plasma screen and free wi-fi. Plus there is a small downstairs toilet. A baby chair, changing table and cot are available if needed and a laundry room is also available to use if you wish.

The Owner Recommends

Historic Bayeux is a 10 minute drive with many chic boutiques, cafés, restaurants, fantastic Saturday market and the Bayeux Tapestry. There is also a selection of museums and cathedrals for you to visit.

Night Trotting at Cabourg and more. Take in a show or have a flutter at the beautiful Casino and on some Fridays in the summer you can dine in style as you watch the Night Trotting at Cabourg, a very special evening indeed. Trotting is very popular in Normandy and you can often see the horses being exercised along Omaha beach.

D-day Landing Beaches

The landing beaches stretch from the British beaches and Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches to our nearest beach, Omaha beach and on towards Cherbourg. Omaha beach is a 5 minute drive from Le Pressoir and on the hill behind the beach is the very impressive American Cemetery, museum, the gardens there are a tranquil place to remember those that lost their lives on the beaches below.

Live the high life - drive to Deauville and stroll the Promenade, have lunch at one of the many exquisite restaurants or shop till you drop at Gucci, Channel and Louis Vuitton to name a few.

Things to do near us

You'll be spoilt for choice of things to do in Normandy. The most famous must see things are the many poignant WWII landing beaches and the world famous Bayeux Tapestry that tells the story of William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings. Nearby there is horse riding, golf, fishing, sailing, sand yachting, bungee jumping. Plan in advance and make the most of your stay and maybe one stay won't be enough!

Our local village, Trévières is 3km away, it has 2 bakery's, 2 butchers, 2 bars, post office, pharmacy, small supermarket, 2 hairdressers, florists and a thriving Friday Market with fresh local produce.

This wonderful gite surpassed our already high expectations. The property is in a quiet rural setting, but close to a small town with shops that provide the usual necessities. The property itself is maintained to a very high standard, very well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. A pool and hot tub are available for use at all times.
The owners welcomed us personally, and provided a Welcome pack containing wine, cheese, butter, eggs, biscuits, tea and coffee. An ice machine is available for use.
Bring quite centrally located along the Normandy coast and only 7 km inland, the property is ideal for anyone wishing to explore the D-Day beaches and other associated locations, as well as the cities of Bayeux, Caen and St-Lo.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending the property to anyone wishing to take advantageof all that the area has to offer.

What a wonderful way for us to start the week - a 10 out of 10 review!! It can't get any better than that so we're over the moon.
We are delighted that you had such a good time here and that you enjoyed the pool and hot tub... and the ice machine for keeping your drinks cool in the amazing weather you had during your week. We loved meeting you all and are thrilled that you are thinking about coming back again next year. We'd love to welcome you again.

Hi Terry and Julia
Thank you so much for your fabulous rating - it doesn't get any better than 10 out of 10 and the fact that you booked to come back next year before you'd even finished your stay this year makes your rating feel even higher!! To want to come back is such a huge compliment.
We loved meeting you and we're already looking forward to seeing you again next year.
Thank you for being 10 out of 10 guests.

We spent the first week in June at the gite . The weather was not particularly kind to us, which might have been a problem had it not been for the comfort of the accommodation and friendliness of the owners Shu and Rob.
The owners will agree the property is work in progress, but the gites that are finished are extremely comfortable and furnished to an extremely high standard thanks to the design talents of Shu.
There is a lovely pool and hot tub, and the outside furniture is high quality and very comfortable. As well as the provided towels Shu puts out extra towels on the poolside loungers every day.
Everything you could possibly hope for is provided in the gite, and there is a well stocked welcome pack to keep you going until you can get to the shops.
As for Shu and Rob, they are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them, you only have to ask and it’s done in a flash.
We had a lovely time at Gite Renoir, and we would definitely return. I would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

Hi Steve and Angie
Thank you so much for your fabulous rating and review. We are delighted with all the 10 out of 10 scores. If we could have done anything about the weather we would have been on to that in a flash too ;-) we're just happy that you managed a couple of days of lounging by the pool in the sun and that you liked the welcome pack of local goodies. Thank you again, Best Wishes, Shu and Rob.

Thank you so much Joan, Alan, Sue and Tony for your wonderful review.
We loved meeting you all and the highlights of your stay for me were hearing you all giggling while enjoying a glass of wine in the hot tub and also the rather lovely glass of rhubarb gin you shared with us while you sat in the garden having your evening BBQ.
We are delighted that you would recommend us to others, thank you for being such lovely guests.
Best Wishes
