Le Guillaume is a beautifully refurbished apartment on the second floor of a very old building, once part of William the Conqueror's Cathedral, and right opposite the old salt store.
It is amazingly well equipped with everything the traveller could possibly require.
It sleeps 2 in the bedroom, and the sofa bed in living area converts into small double (only 4foot wide) so third adult, or child, quite possible.
We purchased it in 2002 and had the entire apartment internally demolished and re-designed to make the most of its limited space.
The main living area has two windows overlooking the new museum, with a breakfast bar separating the kitchen area.
The bedroom is decorated in pinks and white, and is very pretty.
The shower room links the living area and the bedroom with two doors.

My partner and myself have been together for 30 years, and Jean was born in St Lo Normandy. We enjoy travel, and home making. Both of us are gardeners and have three gardens to keep us very busy. We live in Derbyshire and are both retired, Jean from University lectureship and myself from secondary education. Between us we have 9 children and 6 grandchildren, so we are very busy. We maintain four properties, three of them in Normandy. We use the winter to travel to warmer climates on holidays.

|Why this location?||Bayeux is such a lovely small town, with its' magnificent cathedral. You can walk from one side of the town to the other in about half an hour. Everything is on your doorstep, and parking is nearby and free. The apartment however, is wonderfully quiet, yet you are next door to the Cathedral. The bells only sound for weddings and for other special occasions, so they do not interfere with normal life. In the nearby vicinity you have a wealth of restaurants of all different types, the new museum is underneath us, and the tapestry is five minutes walk away. Visit the very helpful Tourist centre on arrival to find out the wealth of different activities you can involve yourselves in, and the excursions you can join. Then come home to homely comfort, plenty of hot water, and a kitchen that boasts everything you are likely to need. Small, but every inch of the apartment carefully planned and in the best possible way. Staircase is spiral and stone, and the apartment is on the second floor.|
|Unique benefits of property||The position is quite unique, and the building is 16th century. However, the apartment has been gutted and transformed, and is very 21st century. You are ideally placed here to enjoy the immediate activities, but also to take the car and vist such places as Utah, Omaha, Deauville, Trouville, Caen, Suisse Normande, and so many different places of both historical and sporting interest. The golf course at Omaha is only 10 minutes drive from the apartment. I Suisse Normande you can ride horses, go water rafting, bungie jumping, or just enjoy the beautiful lush countryside. The beach at Omaha is large and usually quiet, with easy parking. Arromanche is pretty and has plenty of seaside shops and restaurants.|
