"Boutique hotel meets French rural charm".
We have taken this flight ourselves and can highly recommend it as it gives you a whole picture of the landing beaches along this famous coast.
We highly recommend a visit to this immaculately kept museum and gardens.
The visit begins by the Visitor Centre where the details of Operation Overlord are explained. Outside, a viewpoint diagram placed in front of a water mirror, shows the beaches where the Allied forces landed. Looking to the West you can see the cemetery and behind it, a round chapel.
The cemetery contains 9,387 gravestones perfectly aligned on a majestic expanse of green lawn.
Every day, at the end of the afternoon, visitors can watch the ceremony of the Lowering of the Colours. To the sound of a military hymn, the American flag is lowered and folded
Shu & Rob are excellent hosts who go the extra mile to ensure your gite is very much a ‘home from home’.
The downstairs is compact but certainly roomy enough and the bedroom is absolutely enormous and amazing decoration throughout!
There was nothing we needed that we didn’t have and the one day when the temperature dropped a few degrees, Shu came and provided an extra electric heater to make sure we stayed snug and cozy.
The welcome pack was a wonderful extra surprise full of lovely goodies and we especially loved the cider and fizz (so much we bought a load to bring home!!!).
The icing on the cake are surely the pool and hot tub - especially amazing when we were sat in the tub in the dark taking in the owls 🦉, bats 🦇 and the billions of stars ⭐️ shining down on our fabulous stay.
Merci beaucoup Shu, Rob, Lou Lou and Cider!
Thank you so much Ian and Nicky for your fabulous 10 out of 10 rating.
We're blown away by your glowing review and are delighted that you had such a good time here, relaxing under the 'billions of stars' in the hot tub in the evenings watching our owls. We love that you enjoyed the local cider and fizz in your welcome pack so much that you stocked up with more to take home and we hope you enjoy it over the coming months and that it reminds you of your stay in Normandie. Merci beacoup to you both for being such lovely guests.
Best wishes, Shu, Rob, Lou Lou and Cider
The perfect place to unwind - the Gite was very clean and comfortable and the pool with hot tub very handily put right outside so if you need a relaxing dip it's about 3 paces from your door!
It's an ideal place to explore the historic Normandy sites and is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be able to relax but not that far that if you need provisions you have a long drive, the nearest large supermarket being about 15 minutes away.
The hosts Shu & Rob certainly know how to make you feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone!
Hi Paul, Dianne and Joshua
Thank you so much for your fabulous 10 out of 10 rating, we're absolutely delighted that you had that good a time at Le Pressoir. We loved meeting you all and are thrilled that you enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It's wonderful to hear that you feel we're ideally located for all the historic Normandie sites and you certainly managed to see a lot of them while you were here didn't you - very impressive exploring!!
Best Wishes Shu and Rob
I can't be complimentary enough. A lovely gite with great facilities. The swimming pool was a god send in the hot weather and Shu and Rob could not have been more hospitable (with recommendations of things to do and places to eat etc.) The local village (Trevieres c 3km away) had all the facilities needed (post office, shops, restaurants) whilst getting to the WW2 sites was easy as was other places of interest - Bayeux about 1/2 and hour drive. The gite was well equipped with a huge and comfortable bed and good living space. We will be back!
Thank you so much Anne and Chris
We are delighted that you had a good time here and are thrilled to get your 10 out of 10 rating, that is just fantastic. We're really pleased that you enjoyed the pool after your days out exploring. It was lovely to meet you both and thanks again for your glowing review. Best Wishes, Shu and Rob.
This is a wonderful property run by a lovely couple. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The gites are extremely well appointed with all mod cons while still retaining a wonderful french charm. A holiday here is wonderful and we will certainly be returning
Thank you so much Alison and Paul. We loved having you here again (for your 3rd time) and we're over the moon that before you even left you booked to come back for a 4th time in October. Huge thanks for the 10 out of 10 rating, that is just thrilling for us. We always love seeing you both and you are 10 out of 10 guests!
