Born and bred in Dublin, Ireland but spent my entire working life in London where I was a publican and restaurateur among other things during my 35 yrs. there.<br/>In 2002 I discovered le moulin l'Eveque, a little hamlet of 4 houses and decided that I wanted to live there. Simple as that!!

|Why this location?||Normandy is a fantastic region of France with stunning scenery and easy access to the UK which was a factor for me when house hunting, as I still had business interests in London at the time. There are many very popular attractions within an hour's drive of here, and while we appear to be in the middle of nowhere, it's only a 7 minute drive to the A84 Autoroute with links to just about everywhere else in this vast country.|
|Unique benefits of property||Le Moulin l'Eveque (the Bishop's mill) is a site of great historical interest located deep in the valley of the Vire river and is well known as a site of outstanding natural beauty. It has a history going back to 1308 and was a working grain mill until the end of WW 2 The location is a wonderful springboard to visit all the attractions of Normandy, such as the Mont St. Michel and the Bayeux tapestry, both less than an hour's drive and still be back in time to get the bbq fired up for the evening. Fishing is available right on the doorstep of your cottage. The towns of Vire & St Lo are only 15 mins away for all the major shops, and the village of Campeaux is only a 3 min drive to get fresh bread in the morning.|
Europe's only permanent bungee site is just a 25 min walk from the bottom of our road. Great fun for people of all ages with many adrenaline fueled activities and plenty for the more faint hearted, including a licenced cafe serving food all day.
Festyland for younger children is just 35 mins as is Bayeux and it's world famous tapestry.
We are only too happy to direct you to some of our favourite restaurants in the area , to suit your taste and budget, from le routiers where the lorry drivers stop for a meal to Mitchelin starred restaurants, if money is no object, and all sorts in between.
A lovely setting for either a quiet break, or a base to explore the countryside, with the usual variety of attractions not too far away. Very friendly and welcoming owners, comfortable accommodation, and a relaxing atmosphere made this one of the best gites we've visited in France.
The site was even nicer than we'd imagined, and Ideal for touring the D-Day landing beaches and bocage country, or visiting some of the historic buildings and sites in towns such as Domfront, Falaise, St Lo and Bayeux, amongst many. The area around the gite was like being in a park, with the river at the end of the garden. If wildlife is your interest there are plenty of things to spot, including birds, mammals and insects, with loads of photo opportunities if that's your thing. The sound of the water is very soothing. We would recommend this gite to anyone visiting the area. All in all a most enjoyable stay, and we would definitely return - hopefully for a longer visit !
Thank you Jeremy for those glowing comments. It's when people like yourselves enjoy your stay here that makes all the hard work seem worthwhile.
Hope to meet you all again on another occasion.
