|Le Gite d'Ile||Self Catering||Saturday||1 (Studio)||2||1|
Le Gite d'Ile, the smallest of our 3 cottages here at the Moulin l'Eveque is a studio cottage consisting of a large living/sleeping area with double aspect windows overlooking the waterfall outside. The sound of running water outside tends to make visitors sleep on long after they intended to arise.
While small it is fully equipped with everything a visitor needs for enjoyable holiday
The windows one facing south across the waterfall and the other looking westward ensure the sunshine is coming in one window or the other from mid day onwards.
The small kitchenette is fully equipped with a 2 ring electric cooker with oven underneath. There is a microwave, fridge electric kettle and coffee maker. A washing machine and freezer are available in the large barn just across the little bridge.
In the past 14 years I have seen many creative delicious meals come out of the kitchen.
The main sleeping/living has a comfortable double bed, a dining table which extends to double it's size. There is a flat screen tv/dvd player which receives all the English freeview channels, so do bring your favourite dvds or we can lend you a few from our limited range. There is an open fireplace in the corner.
As described above this is a large studio cottage
The bathroom, off the main room was completely renovated last year (2016) and had wc wash hand basin and shower.
Heating is by electric radiator and sunshine!
In the adjacent barn there is a ping pong table for the use of all visitors.
the barn also has sofas for lounging about in the evenings and is a good place to mingle with visitors from the other 2 cottages, should you wish to do so.
The wifi signal is at it's strongest from the barn
The property has it's own private garden and patio with bbq sun loungers and parasol.
Your own parking space almost outside the cottage.
Due to steps leading down into the gite, this property is regretably unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Born and bred in Dublin, Ireland but spent my entire working life in London where I was a publican and restaurateur among other things during my 35 yrs there.<br/>In 2002 I discovered le moulin l'Eveque, a little hamlet of 4 houses and decided that I wanted to live there. Simple as that!

|Why this location?||Normandy is a fantastic region of France with stunning scenery and easy access to the UK which was a factor for me when house hunting, as I still had business interests in London at the time. There are many very popular attractions within an hour's drive of here, and while we appear to be in the middle of nowhere, it's only a 7 minute drive to the A84 Autoroute with links to just about everywhere else in this vast country.|
|Unique benefits of property||Le Moulin l'Eveque (the Bishop's mill) is a site of great historical interest located deep in the valley of the Vire river and is well known as a site of outstanding natural beauty. It has a history going back to 1308 and was a working grain mill until the end of WW 2 The location is a wonderful springboard to visit all the attractions of Normandy, such as the Mont St. Michel and the Bayeux tapestry, both less than an hour's drive and still be back in time to get the bbq fired up for the evening. Fishing is available right on the doorstep of your cottage. The towns of Vire & St Lo are only 15 mins away for all the major shops, and the village of Campeaux is only a 3 min drive to get fresh bread in the morning.|
Europe's only permanent bungee site is just a 25 min walk from the bottom of our road. Great fun for people of all ages with many adrenaline fueled activities and plenty for the more faint hearted, including a licenced cafe serving food all day.
Festyland for younger children is just 35 mins as is Bayeux and it's world famous tapestry.
We are only too happy to direct you to some of our favourite restaurants in the area , to suit your taste and budget, from le routiers where the lorry drivers stop for a meal to Mitchelin starred restaurants, if money is no object, and all sorts in between.
We have stayed here before and have enjoyed this wonderful location and warm welcome. It gets better each time!
The setting by the river is superb, with sightings of herons and kingfishers.
Johnny and Lynn are wonderful hosts.
We will definitely return.
Thank you Colin. It was lovely to see yourself and Chrissie again. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
You are welcome back anytime.
