Hello, I'm Glynis married to my lovely husband Charlie for 28yrs. Worked for 35 yrs for M&S. We came to Normandy on holiday and fell in love with a dilapidated 300 yr old farmhouse. On returning to the UK. I was found to have Hodgkins Cancer so started my Chemo and went ahead and still bought our dream holiday home.<br/>After my all clear, I said "Why don't we move out NOW ! as lifes too short". So thats what we did. Its been a labour of love, but we've never regreted it.
|Year property purchased||2002|
|Why this location?||We chose this area because it was central to nearly everything in Normandy from the DD Landing beaches and war cemetries to the medieval town of Bayeaux with its stunning cathedral and beautiful tapestry. Also within easy driving distance is the coastal town of Honfleur with its many artists and little narrow meandering streets.
We have fabulous beaches not far from here with miles of golden sands and the opportunity to do various watersports including windsurfing and sand yachting. If sports are not your thing you can always watch the mussels and oysters being gathered up and then try them in the many seafood restaurants situated all along the coast.
The famous abby of Le Mont St Michel, the most visited tourist attraction outside of Paris can be seen on a clear day, locally.
Villedieu-Les Poeles less than a half hour drive away is famous for its copperware shops together with a working bell foundry with English speaking guides to show you round. There are also many bars/restaurant
|Unique benefits of property||The property is situated on the fringes of the forest of St Sever which has many different species of wildlife including wild boar, deer, badger, red squirrel, fox, coypu etc together with many types of birdlife making it a twitchers paradise.
Within 10Km away is Lake Dathee which has an 18 hole golf course, watersports and various walking and cycling tracks.
The property is equipped with English tv, safe parking, fully equipped kitchen, private garden with bbq, garden furniture together with peace and quiet.
One of the benifits of our property is that we live on site, so we are always here to help or give advise to make your holiday as carefree as possible. Over the years we have had so many people returning again and again. Some of them enjoying the place so much, that we have helped them to find a property to buy for themselves.

Good customer service, property set in a very rural, quiet area.
This was a lovely little gite. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in a peaceful rural setting.
The owners are very friendly , living next door, but not at all intrusive. There is a delightful private garden with chairs, loungers and a barbecue. We would thoroughly recommend this gite for a couple wanting a quiet restful holiday with tourist attractions nearby.
It was lovely to meet you both, and thankyou for your lovely review. We do hope you will visit us again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Nuthatch. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming, and were also very helpful.
Just a couple of things would have made the visit perfect, there were no bedside tables, and no light apart from the centre light, and one had to get out of bed to switch it off. We both like to read, and we found the centre light not very bright.
The property was well looked after, clean and tidy. Just enough room for two people as stated.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Normandy countryside, and the small town of Villedieu les Poeles, which was a delight. We were within easy reach of the D Day beaches, and not too far from St Malo and Grandville, wher we had some lovely meals. Also Mont st Michel is not far. All in all a great location, we had typical Normandy weather, but managed to dodge most of the showers!!
