|Why this location?||Marais Vernier is quaint Normandie village situated in the Natural Park of the Boucles de la Seine (the meanders of the Seine). The village has an restaurant/ bar - Auberge de l'Etampage - only a 5 minute walk from the cottage & a Post Office. Bicycle hire is available further down the road from the cottage.
Pont Audemer known as the Venice of Normandie is only 10km away with its twice weekly markets, lots of individual shops - boulangeries, charcuteries etc plus 2 major hyper markets.
Honfleur is nearby with its lovely Vieux Bassin (old quay) & quaint cobbled streets. It also boasts a lovely sandy beach.
The cottage is also convenient for visiting Deauville home of the American Film Festival every September, Pont l'Eveque with its famous cheese, Rouen, Lisieux home of St. Theresa as well as many cider & Calvados producers in the area.
Monet's Garden at Giverny is a beautiful place to visit. The D-day beaches starting from Pegasus Bridge are really interesting.
|Unique benefits of property||Forget-me-not Chaumiere is a traditional Normandie thatched cottage around 300 years old. It has been fully renovated while retaining its original beams.

We really enjoyed our Christmas break at 'Forget me Not' chaumiere, which was clean and well equipped. Our stay was warm and cosy despite the weather, and Marianne and Jenny were helpful and attentive hosts. We enjoyed walking our dog around the area, along very quiet lanes and footpaths and seeing the local wildlife on the marshes. We visited the nearby coast at Etretat and Honfleur, both interesting towns, and drove to some of the villages along the Seine. We would certainly consider visiting again, perhaps at a different time of year.
Many thanks for your kind review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed yourselves and will be happy to see you again.
Had a great stay nice bar restaurant 5 minutes walk cottage 5 stars thanks for having us and bella the dog 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🐕
Many thanks for your great review. So pleased you all & Bella enjoyed yourselves.
Fantastic week at Forget-me-not chaumiere. Owners were extremely welcoming and were available to answer any queries we had by text or phone. The property was quaint and beautifully traditional with all the facilities we required, set in a quiet hamlet. Pet friendly. Bread delivery most days. The local restaurant served delicious food and was a real French experience. A great base for visiting many places of interest locally. We would very much recommend this to others and will hopefully make a return visit ourselves.
Thank you very much for your great review. It was good to meet you both & Calla. We were so pleased you enjoyed yourselves & look forward to seeing you again some time.
My Wife, me and our dog stayed here for six nights. Owners were more than helpful and very friendly. The cottage is beautiful and offered everything we required for our stay. The setting is fantastic and ideal for exploring the areas around. Unfortunately for us the Pub/Restaurant in the village was closed all week and only re-opened the night before we left so we only had this opportunity to try it. It is worth a visit, albeit for the character of the owner.
Fully recommend a stay at the cottage.
Many thanks Andrew for your kind review. So pleased you had a good time. We wish you all the best for your future enterprise a l'hexagone.
