Susan and I have owned a weekend treat in le Bec Hellouin for 13 years. We have loved spending weekends and longer holidays here. In 2013 we bought the farmhouse and paddock and following extensive renovations are thrilled to share the comfortable accommodation we call Au Paddock Du Bec with guests.
|Year property purchased||2013|
|Why this location?||Le Bec Hellouin is one of the most beautiful villages in France renowned for its Bendectine Abbey and natural beauty. Located in the Eure we are 50mins to Honfleur, close to Giverney and Etretat and appro 1hr 30mins to Normandy Landing beaches.|
|Unique benefits of property||Tranquil setting with ample accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children with a large garden and bbq area. Within minutes of a cycling path to explore chateaux, go canoeing or traverse the countryside on horse back.|
Château de Champ de Bataille
We had a wonderfully relaxing break in late Autumn. Very characterful old building, with outside room to sit in - even when it's raining - and just watch the horses in the paddock, and listen to the birds. Lovely! (The electric heaters were very efficient, which was good as the old building soon picks up any cold and damp from the outside.)
We would try to come earlier in the year for our next visit, so that the lighter evenings would enable us to walk into the village to visit the restaurants there for dinner.
Roddy is an excellent host; very welcoming, and with many suggestions for places to eat and places to visit. He also serves an excellent breakfast!
we had a very warm welcome. Was given a good deal of information and good places to eat etc. We found a lot of goodies left for us by owners. We had a very nice stay, I would rebook this hoilday home and would recommend this holiday home.
The owners were really nice, very friendly giving plenty of help and advise with places to visit and shop. The property was as we expected with lots of room and large paddock for my daughters dogs. Very friendly dog venue, and would not hesitate to recomend. The property is located in a lovely location, and the village is very clean and tidy as was most of the French villages we visited.
We had a great stay in a delightful property. Roddy ,Sue (and Hugo the dog) could not have been more welcoming and gave great advice on local attractions and restaurants etc.We spent many hours soaking up the sun in the lovely garden and Le Bec Hellouin is an absolutely beautiful village with a small selection of good eateries and high quality tourist shops as well as the having the attraction of the Abbaye. The local area has a wealth of attractions set in beautiful scenery within a short drive. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to other couples.
