"My wife and I spent a week at the farmhouse cottage near La Haye du Puit. We were joined by my daughter and her partner for the second half of the week. We all found the rural location ideal. The accommodation was excellent and the beds were ideal as both myself and my daughters partner are over 6 feet tall. We spent a lot of time in the garden as the weather was good and we enjoyed the large cottage kitchen. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to others and we hope to revisit it again in the near future." The Wharton family, 27th July-3rd August 2013.

All well presented. Master bedroom with en suite bathroom above the kitchen. King size French style bed.

Bathroom 2. Bath with shower tap fitting. Electric towel rail. Wc.
Sitting room and hall have underfloor electric heating. There is a woodburner in the sitting room and woodburner in the kitchen. Very unlikely that any of these would be needed during the summer. However, there is a supply of wood in the barn if required. At the moment there are also free standing radiators in some of the rooms. These are due to be replaced in September by wall fitted radiators.
In house: Satellite tv with dvd. Boules set for use on the terrace, or the beach.
A picnic basket is provided and may be found in the hall. Also a wind break is provided for the beach should this be desired.
The garden has been described by guests as beautiful. We think so. It is large, lovely for adults and children. A bonus for all children (including those who have grown up) is that our neighbour's donkeys may be in the adjacent field (Only feed them apples and carrots please).
Garden furniture is plentiful. There is a classic French stone barbecue. Depending on the time of year the garden can be a riot of lovely colour, but at all times it is peaceful and a great delight.
Parking at the front of the house and also in the lane just before the house if you turn up with a camper van or large trailer. There is a garage which is, shall we say, off limits; but if guests come with bicycles you can lock them away in the garage for safety.
Unfortunately the property is not equipped for wheelchair access.
There is no wi-fi but this is available, inter alia, at La Commerce bar in La Haye du Puits. Also available at the Tourist Office.

How very kind to write such a splendid review. So glad your family were so pleased.
A most excellent house and garden in a very quiet location but convenient to Les Haye des Puits for shops and eateries etc.. Local beaches superb and safe for children of all ages. Many worthwhile visits within easy reach on quiet roads, old towns, churchs, abbeys etc and of course wartime historical sites/beaches.
The owner was most responsive in providing information prior to our holiday and local contact very helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this property.
We are delighted that Geoff and family enjoyed their stay, and very much appreciate the kind comments.
My family and I have stayed twice at this property. It is in a beautiful secluded area with a wonderfully large and well kept garden. The property is extremely spacious with the added benefit of having three toilets. It has beautifully proportioned and furnished rooms and has a real authentic French farmhouse feel to it. It was clean and tidy when we arrived and any problems during one's stay are quickly dealt with by a couple who live locally whom the owner employs for such purposes.
We found the property to be excellent value for money. The large village of La Hayes du Puit is a short drive away and has a market and a wide variety of good shops and services. The property owner was very polite and helpful at all times with lots of useful information, maps and in answering queries. A visit is highly recommended!
Beautiful garden Helpful owner.
Unclean Hadn't been cleaned since previous occupiers. Bathrooms unclean. Condom under bed. Dead flies on windowsills etc. Cobwebs everywhere. Needed proper spring clean. We had to clean, mop etc before using surface areas, bathrooms, kitchen.
Most concerned and distressed by these comments. We thoroughtly cleaned the house. Then two people went for a week, using only one bathroom and,it seems, one condom. Our cleaner missed that which is most unfortunate. We have a lovely couple who look after the house and
our guests are given their number to phone from the house phone should there be any problems with cleaning or anything. Tracey did not raise any problems at all.If we had rented a house which was dirty we would have been on the phone at once and Tracey had every opportunity to do so. Comfort: They slept in a lovely French style King size bed, expensive mattress, feather duvet and pillows.Sitting room has a luxurious sofa, antique French chairs and other furniture. Perhaps Tracey prefers a more modern style. The couple who look after our house are meticulous and helpful with all our guests and would be so upset to see their hard work so traduced. We are sorry that Tracey was upset but puzzled as to why she said nothing at the time.
