|Les Mouettes||Self Catering||Saturday||3||6||1|
Les Mouettes is a purpose built cottage in St Jean le Thomas with wonderful views over rolling Normandy countryside and glimpses of the sea. The cottage has been designed for maximum comfort for our guests and is wheelchair friendly. It is quite independent and stands in its own private garden, a south facing sun trap with lots and lots of sky!!
There is safe off-road parking. Whilst being 'in the village' it is just on the edge therefore very quiet!
The large open plan dining and kitchen area is ideal for those who like to still be with friends and family while creating culinary delights! There is a full size fridge-freezer, wall mounted double oven, 4 ring electric/halogen hob, microwave, washing machine, tumbledryer and dishwasher. We provide all herbs, spices, cooking oils, tea and coffee etc.
Three large comfortable sofas give generous lounge seating for 6.
There are 2 double bedrooms and 1 bedroom with twin beds.
The main bathroom has bath and separate shower cubicle and all bath and hand towels are provided. There are 2 separate wcs.
Full programmable electric central heating is designed to keep the cottage cosy in the cooler winter months.
Flat screen full hd tv and dvd player with a huge choice of different adult and children dvds. Stereo sound system with selection of cds. The cottage is bursting with enough reading material to suit all tastes.
Large south facing garden with loungers and outside dining table and chairs. Full size brick barbecue. Large lawned garden to the rear.
Plenty of off-road private parking.
The cottage is wheelchair friendly and the bathroom and wcs are fitted with grab bars.
Everything you could possibly need for a care-free holiday is provided from comprehensive kitchen equipment to first aid kit.
For those old enough to remember them I used to work for Crest Hotels. Since coming here in 1991 I have worked for the local chamber of commerce; happily I am now part-time so afternoons are all mine!

|Why this location?||We came on holiday 25 years ago, fell in love with the area and made one of those life-changing decisions! We originally had an old house in the village and bought this piece of land in 2001 and built Les Mouettes and our current house. We managed to sell our old house in 2010 and that paid off a lot of bills!|
|Unique benefits of property||Where does one begin? Comments received from guests have included: peaceful, relaxed location; secluded garden with decking and barbecue; really comfortable beds; open plan so very convivial; a home from home. One of our recent guests said she wanted to just pick up the whole house up and take it back with her!|
Juno, Gold, Sword, Omaha - just an hour's drive away.
Our own local pirate town and still a bustling fishing harbour
One of the "wonders of the world" - the most visited monument in France outside Paris. Just 24kms by road or cross the sands on foot-but only with a guide!
The famous pirate walled city!
Delightful cottage, that has everything you could possibly need. In beautful surroundings and a short walk to the village. Highly recommended. It was our second visit and many people have stayed several times!
This was our second visit (Easter 2018) and Les Mouettes remains the most well equipped rental property we have stayed at over many visits to France. David and Alex are great hosts and excellent company with a vast knowledge of the area.
Les Mouettes is ideally located for exploring the area being convenient for both St Malo in Brittany and the Cherbourg area including the Normandy Landing beaches, Bayeux and Caen. There are many places to visit nearby, including Granville with its many harbourside restaurants.
We would highly recommend Les Mouettes to any person wishing to explore this interesting area and will definitely return ourselves.
My wife and I have been holidaying in France for many years in April/May and September/October, renting up to eight properties in one year so over the years we have rented quite a few. Our stay in Les Mouettes this October is the first time we have ever returned to the same property, yes we returned to this part of France as despite our age we do like to cycle and had to complete the last stage of The Grand Depart, Tour de France 2016, the first 50 Km that started at Mont St Michel, We could have stayed in several locations to do this but opted for this return because we knew everything we could ever want could be found at this property. I would have liked to give 10 for each rating, yes you can walk down to the village to the small shop and places to eat but you do have to use the car to get to the supermarkets if you are going to get the best out of everything you will find in the kitchen. Condition rating could also be 10 but like back home its been raining over in France and David had not mowed the lawns. What you will find is a great place to stay with everything you need in a home from home plus two great hosts in David and Alex and a real greeting from Daisy the dog and if she is in the mood a royal visit from Millie the cat. Les Mouettes easily makes it in to our top ten and is likely to get another visit from us as we still have things to do in the area. Just book it up and go and explore is the only advice we can give.
Wonderful cottage. Description on web site was very accurate.
It's probably the best equipped cottage we've ever stayed at; nothing missing. It was all very comfortable. All the rooms were large. The sunny back garden was great for quiet relaxing, especially with all of the chairs/loungers out there.
David (his house was at other end of the garden) was there to meet us. Handy knowing he was so near if we'd had any problems, but he left us on our own.
Great, very quiet location as it was half a mile outside the village but the bar, local shop, restaurants and boulangerie were only 15 minutes walk away. The beach is only 20 minutes walk away, with great views of the bay.
We'll stay there again!
