Plus:- The new indoor play area has a mini climbing frame, slide, tunnel, play house, trampoline, ball pit and balls, push toys and trikes. Also for older children air hockey table football, table tennis, fun basket ball.
Outdoor activties:-, Baby swings, general swings, toddler slide, general slides, climbing frames, see-saw, sand pit, play wagon, trampoline, and paddling pools are all on-site. Also, for older children and adults there is a football field with full size nets, basketball and boules pitch.
All facilities will be open to all cottages. The Courtyard Bistro- The bistro menu offers you a wide variety of tasty dishes, which can be either served in the bistro or delivered course by course to your cottage.
Our most exclusive accommodation is Puddleduck Cottage which very comfortably sleeps up to 6 people, plus baby. With 3 generously sized bedrooms and 2 elegant bathrooms, our aim is to provide the finest accommodation to suit the needs and desires of the most discerning families. No expense has been spared to provide such luxurious family accommodation.
The large and ultra modern kitchen is well-equipped - with wooden worktops, double sink, dishwasher, combi cooker, large fridge-freezer, the latest stainless steel appliances, coffee-maker, kettle, toaster and microwave, plus all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils required for the preparation of those long and leisurely evening meals.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a large and delightful dining area with traditional Normandy style table which extends to seat at least 6 diners in comfort.
The huge and comfortably furnished lounge area complete with its large oak beams and an exposed stone wall - evokes an atmosphere of traditional France. With 2 large sofas and an overall style of French contemporary country chic. The old and the new really sit delightfully together to set a wonderful and relaxing ambience. The master bedroom has its own fully tiled en suite, incorporating the latest ultra modern corner power shower. The bedroom with an inviting double bed - is generously sized with oak beams complementing the soft cream and pale green colour scheme.
The 2 other large twin bedrooms feature original oak beams which are complemented by a cool Mediterranean decor. Both have 2 single antique pine beds and matching wardrobes.

Puddle duck has its own secluded and fully enclosed patio area - equipped with tables and chairs, parasol, has a full sized awning, barbecue and outside lighting. The cotttage is located 5 acres, surrounded by wildlife in Normandy's beautiful countryside. The River Douve gently meanders through the manoir's 5 acres of rolling grounds - home to a menagerie of local wildlife together with a charming collection of chickens, ducks, plus a delightful collection of moorhens and their young every summer on our wildlife pond and of course our own warm and friendly Border Collie
Courtyard Bistro! In the style of a typical French village auberge and bar, the Bistro offers everything from an ice-cold draught beer from the well-stocked bar, to a tasty snack or homemade 3 or 4 course meals in elegant and relaxing surroundings. Outside is the chic terraced area, complete with pool table and other bar games. At least once a week we have our very popular bbq night.
Courtyard Bistro also offers meal service course by course to your cottage should you desire.
All guests are invited to make full use of the amenities on offer at La Mare Chappey, these have included a wonderful outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub with a furnished wooden decked terrace area for relaxing in the sun.

Caen: Only 223 km from Paris, and only 14 km from the sea, this city of 200 000 people is located between 2 rivers, the Orne and the Odon. Already an important place in the Middle Ages, it was seized by William the Conqueror during the 11th century. In spite of severe destruction during World War II bombings, a number of ancient houses and buildings have remained, some of them going back to 11th century. Caen is also famous for its Museum for Peace, built in 1988, as well for the museum of Normandy and the one on Fine Arts.
