About this property

Beautifully Furnished & Extremely Well Equipped Gite. This cottage/gite is in a town setting.

A traditional local stone building comprising of a farmhouse and barn, recently renovated to a very high standard. The property accomodates 20 people and has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
The gite is situated in a very quiet one way street. The town centre is just a 3 minute stroll away, with a range of shops, including patisseries. The rear of the property is also very quiet and looks out with lovely views over a wooded valley. The gite is of traditional local stone construction. It has been beautifully converted from a farmhouse and barn and renovated to a very high standard. 
In the rear garden there is a solar heated swimming pool and, on the patio, a hot tub for the sole use of our clients.

Two living rooms with comfortable seating for everyone. Two televisions with "Freeview" sat box (one hd) with pause and recording facilities. Dvd player.


Bedroom 1. King size 4 poster double bed. Wall mounted hd tv with dvd player and sat box. En suite shower room with wc and handbasin.

Bedroom 3. Bunk bed and single bed. Monitor and dvd player.
Bedroom 4. Three single beds. En suite wc and handbasin.
Bedroom 5. Double bed, tv with "Freeview" sat box.
Bedroom 6. Bunk bed and 2 single beds. XBox 360 and monitor.

All rooms have their own electric wall mounted heaters. In one living room there is an open solid fuel/log fire. In the other, a log burning stove.


Outside there is a full size table tennis table and a 12' diameter trampoline
with safety enclosure. For younger children we have a small sand pit and paddling pool.
Inside there is a 5 in 1 mini games table, with table tennis, pool, snooker, football and hockey.
There is an XBox 360, PlayStation2, tvs and dvd players.
There is also a selection of board games, jigsaws etc.

Garden and outside

There are 2 patio areas to sit out on. One is decking and the other slabs.
On the lower level garden there is a 19' x 13' octagonal, solar heated swimming pool for the sole use of our guests.
On the large patio there is 6' diameter hot tub. There are also tables, chairs and sun umbrellas.
The garden has fencing around its perimeter ensuring young children are unable to wander off.
There is a small summer house which catches the afternoon sun.

There is off-street parking for 2-3 cars and adjacent street parking in a wide road.

"Days Out"

The property is ideally situated on the Normandy/Brittany border, enabling you to explore both of these fascinating regions. The D-day landing beaches are within driving distance, as is Bayeux with its famous tapestry. The popular Mont St. Michel, a Unesco World Heritage site, is located on an island off the coast of Normandy. The island is best known for the spectacular Norman Benedictine Abbey of Mont St Michel located at the top. Leading to it are quaint, winding cobbled streets with shops, restaurants and cafes. It is a 30 minute drive away and is a must see attraction. There are numerous lovely beaches about 40 minutes away. Our favourite is Carrolles which is clean and safe with lifeguards. The beaches are all sand with a gradual slope into the sea. There is free parking, cafes, restaurants and toilets. The beaches in Brittany tend to be more rugged and scenic. In St James, a thriving market town with a good selection of shops, bars, and places to eat out. There are also 3 larger supermarkets. Our favourite eating places, within easy walking distance, include Le Lion Dora and Hotel Normandie. Children are made welcome and we heartily recommend both. Monday is market day in St. James that starts early in the morning and packs up around midday. Hot and cold food is available. Free use of the internet is available in the town. It has the second largest American cemetery in France from the World War II. There is a Tourist Office in the town.

Absolutely superb!

We rented this accommodation for 7 nights for our family group of 9, and couldn't have asked for anything more. Location, facilities, cleanliness, proximity to attractions and overall quality of our stay could not have been better.

Would not hesitate to re-visit. A solid 10/10.
