This little gem of a hideaway is perfect for enjoying and exploring this region of France. Once inside the garden of Pont Rose you feel quite secluded but are actually in a small town close to the beaches, a Carrefour supermarket, great restaurants and of course your local boulangerie - try their delicious Parisse baguette! The Le Clos Rubier restaurant, about 5 mins drive away, is definately a place not to be missed.
The property has a well equipped kitchen, including dishwasher and great outdoor seating and eating areas. The garden area is quite safe for young children as the property has secure access.
It was plenty big enough for just us as a couple and would be okay for a family with smaller kids. Two couples or a family with teenagers would have to be very comfortable with one another as the twin bedroom and the double room are linked. Also really tall people will struggle with the steep angle of the roof in the bedrooms.
The owners are contactable by phone to sort out any problems.
We would definately use Pont Rose again and recommend it to our family and friends.
Thankyou for kind comments
for your stay at my cottage.
Pont Rose is a cute little cottage with a lovely private garden including a delightful gazebo area and garden furniture. The double bed has a wonderfully firm mattress. The wi-fi is good. Only a short drive (or longer walk) to the lovely sandy beach at Barneville, with equally lovely sandy beaches at Carteret not much farther away, and easy parking. All in all, a wonderful break.
Thankyou John for your kind comments & reviews. It was a pleasure to meet you
This cottage is really lovely. It has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Contact with the owners is great and they seem to genuinely want you to have a fantastic stay.
Outside the cottage is an enclosed garden with a wonderful comfortable seating area. There is also an outside dining table and sun loungers. A washing line is provided too.
Inside the cottage is a small lounge area with seating for 4-5 people and an inside dining area. Off this is a small compact kitchen with everything you need for your stay. A good sized shower room is off the main room. Upstairs are two sleeping areas. The twin room is accessed via the double room . Be aware that there is not a lot of privacy . We had to devise a code for our grown up kids wanting access to our room to protect everyone's modesty.
Everything in the cottage is in good condition and has been thought through carefully. The only thing I would have liked was an airer to dry clothes inside when the weather was inclement. Other than that we couldn't fault anything.
We travelled to the D Day beaches about an hour and 20 mins away, along with Bayueax. Both worth the journey, we also spent several days on Barneville beaches. The village is a two minute walk away and has a lovely bakery. We didn't use any of the other facilities as lots of them seemed to be closed. We have realised that early June is a very quiet time in France.
All in all I would highly recommend this cottage .
Thankyou Karen for your valued comments regarding your stay at Pont Rose.
A toaster would have been useful.
Thankyou very much for your very helpful review Peter.
A toaster is not provided in my cottage for safety reasons There are numerous places in walking distance where fresh bread is available,
