The Bayeux Tapestry is located in Bayeux, here you can read the story of William the Conqueror and Harold, Earl of Wessex, the men who led the Norman and Saxon armies in 1066. William's defeat of Harold at the Battle of Hastings ensured the success of the Norman invasion of England. 45 minute drive.
A local zoo on the road to Granville with a fantastic range of animals from unusual donkeys to tigers to penguin and goats, feeding popcorn to the goats is recommended. 15 minute drive.

Le Mont Saint Michel is a fantastic medieval abbey and town built on top of a granite island. It is located on the north cost of France, and forms the regional border between Normandy and Brittany. 45 minute drive
If you are looking for a good steak I would recommend Buffalo Grill which is just outside of Avranches. 20 minute drive. For more local food there is a lovely little restaurant in Sainte-Cécile called La Cecilia's that does 4 course evening meals including wine for around €11. 10 minute drive. Also Villedieu is Le Pussoir which is a lovely little Brassiere/Grill.
A lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and comfortable in a tranquil rural setting. The location means that most of Normandy's attractions are within an hour's drive. The fact that there is a boulangerie a short walk from the house was certainly a bonus for at least one member of our party!
We'd recommend this house to anyone and would add that the pictures on the website don't really do it justice.
