The accommodation is fairly well equipped but in need of some maintenance, particularly to the patio, pool and decking area. We were rather disappointed to find the pool looking rather murky and the surrounds in need of some repair. The photos on the website show it looking in much better condition than it is. We also felt that the whole place could do with a thorough clean, particularly the kitchen. I had to clean mound out of the fridge before putting anything in it. All utensils looked old and most knives were extremely blunt. The oven is filthy and the hob rings did not all work properly.

On the plus side, the bed was quite comfortable and the rural setting meant that it was very peaceful. The local town of Villedieu is very attractive and has a good number of cafes, restaurants and shops, as well as the Bell Foundary to visit. It's also within easy reach of many interesting and beautiful places to visit such as Bayeux, Mont St Michel, DDay Beaches and about 40 minutes to nearest beach.
It undoubtedly has the potential to be a beautiful holiday home but a considerable amount of work needs to be done to bring it up to standard.

Owner response

The pool has now been refilled as is sparkling again .The weather during the past few weeks was not conducive for swimming. There had been an accidental leakage of fine filter sand into the water. The broken tiles on the patio have been replaced .The fridge is cleaned thoroughly after wvery visitor has left.Very surprised to hear this complaint!.Blunt knives is an on going problem bur easily rectified.Cooker works fine.
