We found the cottage to be a typical French layout, clean, with plenty of utensils available . It is situated in a quiet location with plenty of walks around the small village and some fantastic views
from top of the cliffs, where there is a petite chapel and WW 2 lookout post.
We both enjoyed our 8 day stay here and would love to return in the near future.

The cottage is set on the outskirts of the village of Mortain in a lovely part of France - it is approached by a fairly steep and long climb - the local electrical supply is somewhat temperamental, but this did not cause too many problems.
The property was fully equipped with all cooking equipment provided and a perfectly adequate tv and dvd player. There was a good selection of books and local information in the bookcase and the owners had provided a very comprehensive set of guidelines for using all the facilities within the cottage.
A number of short walks gave stunning views over the local countryside.

Owner response

Thank you for the review and we are glad you found the information helpful and enjoyed walks in the local countryside. The electricity supply has now been upgraded by EDF, thank you for letting us know of the problem.

Kind regards

A return visit to this fantastic property. Although situated in a lovely rural setting it is very convenient for the local amenities. It is well equipped and maintained and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The bed was really comfy and the log burning fire very cosy. It was nice to sit out on the patio for lunch and listen to the birds singing and the cows mooing.
The guides and information leaflets provided gave us plenty of ideas for trips out. The owner recommended a walk along the coastal path at Carolles which was every bit as enjoyable as sugggested. The local area is great for plenty of lovely walks straight from the front door. The local orchards looked very pretty with all the spring blossom, ensuring that any drive was very scenic which ever direction you went. There was very little traffic on the local roads giving plenty of time to take in the views.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a quiet break in an area which is full of things to do. We are already planning a return visit.

Owner response

Thank you for your great review. I am pleased the recommended walk was enjoyable. There is such a lot to do one visit is never enough. We will be pleased to welcome you back in the future.

Very comfortable week spent in this delightful cottage. It is well maintained, clean and with excellent facilities and such a comfortable bed!!
It is close to many interesting locations most of which are within an hours drive. It is also in a beautiful rural setting and very close to the site of a strategic and important battle of world war 2.
Highly recommended!
