About the Owner, Mrs Rachel Godivala

I live here in Lessay with Ray my husband. We moved over permanently in February 2009. Ray is away during the week working throughout France while I take care of our animals and of course our guests. I love preparing dinner for the couples staying in the gite using our home grown or local produce.

Year property purchased 2001
Why this location? Ten minutes from the stunning west coast beaches and with the forest on the door step makes this quiet rural area the perfect place for us.
Unique benefits of property Couples only accommodation with many luxury extras included. Restaurant quality food available from our seasonal a la carte menu.

The Owner Recommends

Bayeux Tapestry

We never get tired of seeing it. Bayeux is a wonderful medieval town to explore after your visit to the tapestry.

D Day Landing Beaches

A must!

Forest

The ancient forest of Lessay is on our doorstep. Turn right out of the gate and within a few minutes you are there. Marked trails and information posts make for an interesting walk.

Lessay Abbey

12th century abbey in the heart of our nearest town. 2 minutes in car or a lovely stroll. The Abbey has a very interesting history and is simply beautiful. During the summer concerts are held attracting performers from all over the world.

Local Beaches

Within a ten minute drive you come to the stunning west coast of the Cherbourg peninsula with it's vast and empty beaches.

Mont St Michel

Go early or late to beat the crowds. Another must see!

The Fair Of St Croix - Lessay

This three day fair held on the second weekend of September takes over the town and land beyond. Started by the Abbey monks over a thousand years ago. You can buy anything from a cow to a washing up bowl.
