Our recently built duplex apartment, right in the heart of Carteret, is the height of luxury.
It has 2 en suite bedrooms, underfloor heating, 3 sunny balconies and electric shutters on all large windows.
With its porthole style windows and wooden decked balconies the apartment has been designed with the feel of a transatlantic passenger liner, and has been equipped with the highest quality, modern furnishings. And don't forget the sea view!
Across the road is a wonderful boulangerie where you can buy baguettes and your morning croissaints only minutes after coming out of the oven.
Next door is an epicerie with an Aladdin's cave full of quality French produce. Top class restaurants, such as La Marine, are also right on your doorstep.
The clean sandy beach is only 5 minutes walk away with plenty of space for everyone. A weekly market takes place just 100m away.
Then you have the 1930s tourist train, marina and trips to Jersey. Just park the car and forget it for the week!
The designer kitchen has everything you need with a built in siemens oven, induction hob, coffee machine, kettle, integrated siemens microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Plenty of good quality cutlery and crockery has also been supplied. There is also a built in washing machine and tumble dryer.
The italian marble dining table has enough room to seat six people. Double doors lead onto a massive south facing balcony that spans the entire width of the apartment and is sunny all day long. Out here you will find plenty of tables and chairs to dine al fresco.
The lounge/dining room is the place to relax with a large italian leather corner sofa and armchair, italian stone coffee table, flat screen television with both English and French channels plus dvd player.
Plenty of games, films and books are also provided, as is secure high speed WiFi broadband.
The apartment has two en suite bedrooms.
The spacious master en suite bedroom is equipped with a modern double bed, two bedside cabinets and reading lamps. There is a large dressing area with full length mirror, double wardrobe and tallboy.
Double doors lead onto a sunny private south facing balcony with a view of the estuary. Perfect for taking a relaxed breakfast and watching the tide come in.
The second en suite bedroom has two modern single beds, two bedside cabinets and reading lamps. There is also a wardrobe and drawers.
Both the rooms have been furnished with crisp luxurious egyptian cotton linen to ensure a perfect night's sleep.
The apartment has two en suite bathrooms.
En suite bathroom 1 has a large bath with shower, double sink vanity unit with lights, large mirror and toilet. A hair dryer is provided and there is a heated towel rail.
En-suite bathroom 2 has a walk in shower plus a vanity sink unit with mirror and lights. A hairdryer is also supplied and there is a heated towel rail.
From the entrance hall the large toilet has a wc and sink with mirror.
The apartment has thermostatically controlled under floor heating throughout.
During the colder months the apartment will be prepared warm and cosy for your arrival.
Throughout Carteret's long warm months the tiled floors keep the apartment feeling cool and fresh.

The master bedroom has it's own private south facing balcony with a table and chairs. You will love eating your morning croissant here watching the tide come in.
At the rear of the apartment there is a balcony overlooking the main Carteret street. This balcony catches the early evening sun, so why not take a cup of coffee out here and watch the world go by.

Visit here for the wide, sandy Atlantic beaches and dapper little ports and seaside resorts. Drive on empty roads through a peaceful countryside of high hedges and sunken lanes. Dine in great restaurants serving locally caught fish and seafood. Visit medieval abbeys and cathedrals and D-Day history.|

A visit to the Bayeux Tapestry is the highlight for most tourists to the town. Bayeux’s tapestry dominates notions of the place, to be sure, but as you arrive here, it’s the splendid cathedral that dominates the scene and signals that you’re entering a glorious historic city.
La Cité de la Mer is situated on the site of the old Transatlantic Railway Terminal in Cherbourg and is a new and unique tourist centre, of great interest both scientifically and culturally. La Cité de la Mer offers a fantastic 3h30 journey showing the many facets of underwater exploration with human adventure as its main theme.
There is plenty of D Day history close by. Visit the airborne museum, Utah Beach, Azzeville gun battery, or see what life was like for the occupied French in the museum at Quinneville.
The Mont-Saint-Michel is one of Europe’s most unforgettable sights. Set in the mesmerising bay where Normandy and Brittany merge, the island draws the eye from great distances.
We had a lovely stay in this comfortable modern apartment. Darrell and Susan met us on our arrival and couldn't have been more helpful, getting us settled in and giving us plenty of information on what to do and where to eat. The apartment was clean and spacious, it was great having a bathroom with each of the bedrooms. We walked to the beach every day and in the evening there were several restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. Hopefully will be back sometime soon, Carteret is a wonderful town.
