About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Alexandra Sage

The Sage family have owned the property since 2005. At the time with 2 young children, buying a property in this part of France made perfect sense with just over an hours drive from the ferry ports.

Year property purchased 2005
Why this location? The decision to pick Normandy as a location for a second home was really very easy. For many years we took our holidays in France and always questioned why we were travelling through such a lovely place on the way south. Normandy is such a beautiful location, and has the obvious benefit of being so close to home, making travel there easy. There are so many things to see and do in Normandy and plenty on offer for all ages.
Unique benefits of property It took us quite a while to identify this house. We travelled extensively throughout Normandy looking for properties, and finally settled for this area where the landscape becomes more interesting with it's rolling hills and valleys.
Even today driving in this part of France is a pleasure with its lack of congested roads.
After buying the house immediately commenced renovating which we completed in the autumn of 2011.
We have been careful to equip the house with good quality furnishings as we know how important it is to feel comfortable and have that 'home from home' feeling.
We are very proud of what we have achieved and recommend this as an inviting home to rent.
We look forward to welcoming you to La Radigueliere.

The Owner Recommends

Nobody ever seems to mention Granville in any recommendations. It is surprising as it is a wonderful seaside town, and is famed for being the childhood home of Christian Dior. It’s also only a 30 minute drive from the house, and well worth a visit.

Jersey by ferry from Granville

Interestingly you can take a small ferry from Granville to Jersey which takes just over an hour. The ferry leaves Granville harbour at about 9am local time and returns in the early evening. It is easy to find free parking all day in Granville very close to the terminal. A really great day out, or as we have done, spent a night in Jersey and returned the following day.

Mont St Michel

No trip to the Manche area of Normandy would be complete without a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mont St Michel. A really good day out!

Zoo Champrepus

If you enjoy zoo’s then we thoroughly recommend Zoo Champrepus. It is a really fantastic day out and the animals are cared for in such lovely conditions. The zoo has also recently introduced Penguins which is always a favorite. Zoo Champrepus is only about 15 - 20 minutes drive from the house.

10 / 10 Graham Shoobridge. 31 July, 2017

Lovely house in a very tranquil setting. Communication with the owners was perfect. The house was extremely well equipped for a self-catering property. The play room (table-tennis table and dart board) was regularly used by our teenage sons. Almost all the tourist attractions in West Normandy are within 1 hours drive (Mont St. Michel, St. Malo, Bayeux, Caen & D-Day landing beaches) and good beaches can be found only half an hour away. We really enjoyed our stay and are definitely conflating returning.

Owner response

Thank you for such a lovely review which we very much appreciate. Mr Shoobridge and family were fabulous guests, and we would be delighted to welcome you back in the future.
