Big rural stone Normandy farmhouse built in 1603, in the Pays-de-Loire region of Basse (lower) Normandy, on the border of Manche/Mayenne. The house is reached via a private lane in a tranquil setting adjoining a working arable farm – no cattle or sheep nearby, although you will see the occasional deer if you are lucky! During the summer months you will be surrounded by fields of corn and wheat. Sleeps 13 in 7 bedrooms.2 Additional children's beds and one pop-up cot are available to use in adults bedrooms. There are 2 sofa beds downstairs - 1 in the lounge, 1 in the dining room for ocassional additional sleeping.
Upstairs there are 4 doubles (1 en suite, 1 king size bed, 2 double beds, 1 twin bed) & 1 single, 2 bathrooms – 1 with a shower, basin & toilet, the other has a roll top bath with hand held shower, basin & toilet.
There is an additional separate toilet upstairs too. 2 of the doubles also have a wash basin.
Downstairs, there are 2 further double bedrooms each with a bathroom next door to them 1 bathroom has a bath with shower over, shower screen wc & basin, the 2nd has a large hydromassage shower, wc and basin. There is a further toilet within the utility room.
Dog & child friendly completely enclosed front & rear gardens, parking for several cars. There is English satellite TV in the lounge; 3 of the upstairs bedrooms plus in 1 of the downstairs bedrooms.
There is a large lounge with a log burner, 3 good size comfortable sofas (one of which is a double bed settee for occasional additional guests).
There is a large well equipped kitchen with double range cooker (8 gas rings, 2 electric ovens one s a fan oven, and a separate grill), a tall larder fridge, 50%50% fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee machine; toaster, kettle, 2 slow cookers, food processor, George Foreman Grill & an orange juicer. There are many oven dishes, roasting dishes, bakeware, numerous pans of all sizes from large to small, a large fish kettle, woks, frying pans, utensils etc. The bar is equipped with a cooker, hob, sink, wine fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, two tables, a sofa and 4 bar stools - great as a breakfast room or evening bar area. There is a utility room with large capacity washing machine & tumble drier - also a WC in this room. The large party room/dining room is deal for large gatherings, dining or club and group get-togethers. There is a large traditional French table and chairs plus an additional dining table to seat 15 - we also have 2 high chairs available. There are 3 sofas in here too - one of the sofas is a sofa bed for occasional use. The house is centrally heated if it gets chilly, a log burner in the lounge, and each bathroom including en suite has a heated towel rail. Additional portable electric radiators are available if required.
2 pop-up cots and 2 high chairs are also available, plus 2 additional children’s beds which can be located in any suitable room or bedroom.
Outdoors you will find a patio and graveled area with an unusual static large round table close to the bar door, plus other garden tables/chairs to seat 20 at least plus parasols and loungers, a charcoal BBQ (large) and smaller portable BBQ.There is a splash pool directly in front of the house in the front garden from June - end September (5 metres diameter by @1 metre deep) near enough to the house to watch and supervise young children. In an outbuilding is a games area ideally located for children to play separately but near enough to keep an eye on them!! There is an air hockey table, a table tennis table plus outdoor games of boules and croquet. There are 2 bikes - 1 mans 1 women's currently.
On arrival there will be a welcome pack to get you started containing milk, fresh coffee, tea bags, sugar, water, bread & butter, and some toilet rolls for your first day, plus liquid soap in each bathroom and the 2 bedrooms with basins. The beds will be made up and towels provided to each bedroom. There will be tea towels in the kitchen too all included in rental. An initial amount of electricity is included in the rental as are the logs for the fire.

As is usual there will be a security deposit to pay, refunded on departure minus any cleaning and/or electricity.
For everyday provisions it is only 4k to each of the small towns of Le Teilleul & Fougerolles du Plessis, both of which have supermarkets (& fuel), boulangerie, patisserie, butchers, bars, restaurants etc. For bigger shops St Hilaire du Harcouet is only @12kms away and has everything including a weekly Wednesday morning market. There is a lovely little lake (plan d'eau) in Fougerolles which is a great local dog walk, with children's play area and equipment & fishing (licence available from local Marie).
Large dining room will accommodate 15 seated round the tables, also has piano and additional sofa/chair seating (includes a double sofa bed).
Kitchen is equipped with a range cooker (8 burner gas 2 electric ovens, 1 fan), dishwasher, double sink, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, filter coffee maker, food processor, George Foreman Grill, 2 slow cookers, utensils, oven dishes, pans, frying pans. Utility room off this has wc, washing machine 9kg capacity, tumble dryer (also a washing line outside; ironing board, iron, brooms etc.). The bar has another dishwasher, a wine fridge, a freezer, a single fan oven with rotisserie and electric hob with 4 plates, double sink, coffee machine, toaster, glasses, a few tea pots, bar with 4 bar stools, 2 tables & chairs for up to 8, a sofa, and a crockery and cutlery cupboard.
Large comfortable living room with log burner, 3 large sofas (one is a comfortable double bed settee), large coffee table, smaller side tables and lamps. UK satellite TV with surround sound and a collection of DVDs mostly English but some French too. Stairs off to 1st floor.

Although not specifically aimed at people with disability, there are 2 downstairs bedrooms and bathroom suitable for older people or those with limited mobility.
The garden is enclosed and secured for dogs and children.

Great area for canoeing and kayaking on the lake, or just enjoy beautiful walks in the stunning forest.
Parc de Loisirs - Walk around the park, mini golf course, zip wire over the River Colmont, children's activities/climbing/scaling.
The town is famous for copper production and has a weekly market - one of the largest in the area.
Fantastic day out in Brittany an easy 1 hours drive to Cancale the oyster and seafood capital. Fantastic view across the bay to the oyster beds. The best seafood experience you will ever have. Amazing selection of restaurants. Also horse riding and sand surfing.
The world heritage site - Must not be missed
Wednesday a.m market, lovely lake for a stroll, supermarkets and shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and a swimming pool.
