The Owner Recommends

Eating and Shopping and Weekly Markets

Best bread and croissants If you go out of the house to the right and straight to the main road you will find the village boulangerie, epicerie and bar restaurant. We highly recommend eating and buying here. Other Places to Eat If you turn right and leave the village and go straight across the roundabout on the main road (D85), you will see a restaurant called the La Paillotte on the right. Delicious and busy and only open during the day. Further afield in St Hilaire (go right at the main roundabout @ 5 mins) you will find a number of places to eat. We recommend L'Ardoise (also a great website and able to book online), Bar Restaurant du Mail and Anacapri to name a few. For a more refined and expensive meal try Cygne. Further afield our restaurant of choice for special occasions Le Moulin de Jean, La Lande, Cuves, (about ½ hour away and a great website) Markets Local: St Hilaire Wednesday Morning Avranches Saturday Morning Ducey Tuesday Morning Largest Market in Northern France: Rennes Saturday morning Shopping: St Hilaire: Lidl, Le Clerc, Aldi within the main town, as are many local shops including pharmacies, green grocers, butchers and fishmongers. Ducy: Carrefour located on the main road through the town.
