So why not enjoy freshly baked croissants and some freshly brewed coffee every morning overlooking the orchard and beyond in this beautiful and bright space.

The large lounge is decorated in soft tones and traditional French furniture. It has exposed stone work with original beams and a wood burning stove that's perfect for cosy nights.
Relax in the living room area on the large comfy chairs with the candles lit, sipping a glass of your favourite French vintage whilst reading a good book or having quality family time. During your stay you'll also be able to enjoy the use of free wi-fi and Freeview tv in this area too.
Towards the rear of the room is a large antique dining table that will comfortably seat up to 10 people. So why not cook up a delicious meal from your market visit and pass the fresh bread around the table from the local bakery.
The patio doors lead to a peaceful outside area with views to the orchard and beyond. It is an ideal space for long summer evenings enjoying the countryside while you dine alfresco.
The softly decorated tones continue upstairs throughout the landing and bedrooms.

We purchased La Vaquerie in the autumn of 2004 and started the conversion of 2 barns attached to the house to a Gite in 2010, completing the work in 2014 when we started welcoming guests. It was important to us that we retained as many original features as possible, the oak beams have been restored along with the original stonework. Having worked in the hospitality industry for most of our working lives we understand the needs and requirements of our guests and look forward to welcoming you.

|Why this location?||We have visited the area over a number of years and fell in love with the peaceful lifestyle and the wonderful beaches. We found the locals very friendly and welcoming and have made many friends. We found La Vaquerie by chance when visiting friends, in fact the day it went on the market. We fell in love with the house and its great potential and bought it straight away. We are close to some great beaches and all the Normandy Landing sites, along with good rail and road links into Paris. Being just 45 minutes from the port of Cherbourg its an easy journey to get here.|

We had a wonderful holiday staying at La Vaquerie.
We had everything we needed for our stay, including a lovely welcome basket and the Gite was perfectly clean with beautiful bedding and towels. The owners, David and Tom, were really helpful, guiding us on good places to visit and helping with any queries we had.
It's a really quiet and peaceful location, with many towns and villages close by that have lovely restaurants and markets, along with a beautiful beach only about 20 minutes away.
We would thoroughly recommend La Vaquerie and will be booking again for next year.
Thank you for the great review, we look forward to welcoming you all back to La Vaquerie
David & Tom
The Gite was perfect and the owners David and Tom were lovely. The Gite was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The log fire was a big plus. The Gite is set in a lovely quiet spot and amenities and many significant points of interest are just a short drive away. A great beach is only twenty minutes away, where you can even hop on a ferry to Jersey for the day. There are plenty of places to eat close by and there are markets, where fresh provisions can be bought, taking place in one of the surrounding villages every day. All our party had a great time and would we thoroughly recommend this property, we will be booking again soon. Thank you David and Tom for a great holiday.
